How will God remember you?

In the movie The Emperor's Club, an amazing history teacher challenges his students with the line "how will history remember you?" The Emperor's Club is an excellent movie by the way. However, an even more challenging question is the title of this post. You see, if God doesn't remember us, then our life would have had nothing of real value. Something to think about! Malachi 3:16-18 Young's Literal Translation (YLT) 16 Then have those fearing Jehovah spoken one to another, And Jehovah doth attend and hear, And written is a book of memorial before Him Of those fearing Jehovah, And of those esteeming His name. 17 And they have been to Me, said Jehovah of Hosts, In the day that I am appointing -- a peculiar treasure, And I have had pity on them, As one hath pity on his son who is serving him. 18 And ye have turned back and considered, Between the righteous and the wicked, Between the servant of God and him who is not His servant.

We are all sinners and we need God to be merciful, which he is. Let us not give up trying to do his will.

I haven't seen that movie. I don't think God won't forget us because he is all knowing.

Great movie! God will not forget what we do. So it is very encouraging to read: Hebrews 6:10 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC) 10 For God is not unrighteous to forget or overlook your labor and the love which you have shown for His name’s sake in ministering to the needs of the saints (His own consecrated people), as you still do.

@arthurchappell I see but how is that God's fault? Let's say I go to a restaurant and am given bad food and insulted, should I stop eating or just not go to that restaurant anymore? What do you think?

There are many gods. I would go with the oldest Holy book which is the Bible and in the Bible his name is Jehovah. What do you think?

@epiffanie If a person uses a branch from a tree to kill someone, are we going to blame the God of the Bible because he created the tree? What do you think?

@1hopefulman You know, before the Spaniards came to invade the Philippines and forced them to believe in their Gods, the Filipinos already have name for their God that's a lot ancient name known to them than the bible's God's name .. "Bathala" was the name of their God .. They also have their own "holy book" that the Spaniards destroyed ... The Australian Aboriginals have also been forcedly told to believe in the Bible's God.. They were hunted and killed in the name of the God of the Bible .. They were forced to disown their own God ... and we all know that all over the world, that's what happened .. ..

Yes, we all owe God our lives and everything we have but He also expects us to obey Him and do His will.

The scripture in Malachi 3 is one of my favorites, as it encourages us to talk with each other about the true God Jehovah. I love to learn about him in his written Word. He teaches us how to become righteous and avoid wicked ways and how to serve him. We really need to talk with others who have the same view of God's ways - and it is so wonderful that he listens to us.

Yes, Jehovah appreciates those who care abut his name and his will. He will remember such people. "For God is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shown toward His name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister."

I am more concern about how I will be remembered by people. The quote "Plant a tree under whose shade you do not expect to sit" is a good enough guide. How god will remember me then, I leave it up to him.

Yes, we want to do good things to people as Jesus (God's special son) did tell us to love our neighbors as ourselves.
