I hurt my finger

Instead of doing the shopping we have to do every 2 weeks, I went to Kerrville. I guess we could've done it on Friday, but we didn't. Everything was closed on Sunday for Easter, so we couldn't do it then. We had done some on Friday, but we didn't get to Sam's, where we get the cat litter. Today, our little friend we pay to mop the floor came and she came in and told me she needed more cleaner. Well, since I had to go Sam's for litter and a few other things anyway, I figured I'd pick up a large container of cleaner at the same time. Well, I got 5 buckets of cat litter, the large cleaner, wet Swifters, so I can do spot cleaning between her visits and I needed to get some canned food for the old dogs. As I pulled out the canned food, it dropped, trapping my right ring finger between the cans and the basket. I stepped back and let them drop to the ground, while I sucked air and held my finger. In a few minutes the pain had backed off a bit and I pulled another thing of cans and actually got it in my basket this time. Between having to lift the litter buckets into the cart and the large container of cleaning stuff into it, I knew I wasn't going to lean over and pick those up off the floor. They were right next to the stacks so they weren't in the way. My finger still hurts 4 hours later and I can see the joint is developing a bruise. I know I didn't do serious damage to it, however, I can bend it without pain, I'm typing without pain, but if I touch it, it hurts. I gave it a bad bruise, but it could've been so much worse. I hope my friends haven't hurt themselves today.
