Cutting the Carbs

Cutting the carbs seems to work best for me, when watching my weight. I have noticed a several things: 1. When I don't eat carbs I don't crave carbs. 2. I'm less hungry. 3. I have more energy when I cut out sugar and carbs. I realize proteins are more filling, yet I find it interesting that eating carbs makes me crave more carbs. I haven't yet totally eliminated carbs, but I am working at cutting back daily. What works for you when you are trying to lose weight or just eat healthier?

Since having my gallbladder removed it seems that I process carbs better than proteins. I do have to my carb intake though. I tend to overdo it.

@1wldngl I too love bread. My bread of choice is the lower calorie breads which have 40 calories per slice.

I have been fasting from after dinner at night till around 11am next day. I rarely feel hungry at any time so this is working well for me and I'm losing weight.

I have heard of that. I actually don't crave breakfast unless I have eaten poorly the day before.

Same with me also. For a few days now I have not eaten rice which is a staple food here. I noticed that when I eat less carbs, my hunger pangs is more manageable. But I still have to exert more effort now on exercise

Carbohydrates are not responsible for weight gain

No but carbs/sugar, when not burned off will turn to fat. So carbs and inactivity are responsible for weight gain. I'm becoming more active but the carbs have to be curbed so I can get ahead and not stay stagnant.

@1wldngl That is not scientifically true. It is not the carbs which makes people fat.

@Cristi_Ichim Scientifically carbs, not burned off, turn to fat.

I cut carbs as much as I can, or as much as I can discipline myself to do so. I try not to have things in the house I know I will grab, like cheetoes, and try to find substitutes for other things, like mashed cauliflower for potatoes. I had a bread free sandwitch today (yay me), then broke down and had some potatos (bad me),. the had no bread for dinner, which was eggs, cheese and some bacon, so not a bad day. I try to snack on things like almonds

well I dont totally cut out carbs but I do try to eat less of them. I was just on a strict diet for one month. I did lose quite a bit of week. I am going to try to do WW this month because I need a break from the 20/2o diet.

I don't think I can ever cut them out entirely but I am trying to get down to NOT eating carbs every day.
