MyLot Is NOT BANNED in China But...

Following up on what I had posted earlier, I'd like to clear the air here that MyLot was NEVER BANNED in China except for a glaring bug in mylot's site query as per @myLotBugs and I quote: ".....the new version of myLot was pulling it's "JQuery" files from a google-hosted domain, googleapis.com. That wasn't loading, which is why you weren't able to login". This is relatively due to the fact that Google is BANNED from China and as I've said to many responses to my earlier post all services by Google except Android is banned so once a site relies too much on any google related services, it will just be blocked. So thanks to @myLotBugs and the admin technical team for their due attention and tireless efforts here, China now can access the login and participate actively now. At the same time, I'd like to clarify to ALL who are outside of China that MyLot and other legitimate sites will never be banned unless it had been found to have violated the conditions stipulated by the laws of China. In addition, there was or were some people here that alleged that the inaccessibility earlier was the solely due to my "misdemeanors" here. Well, I wonder if they realised that if the Great Wall took millions to build then please one woman's so called misdeameanors would not bring this wonderful site to such a "disrepute". So to all members international and China, please spread the word that MyLot is legit and fully operational including accessible now. Okay, I have done enough to conclude that Mylot is 'BANNED' in China! @myLotBugs @pgntwo @JolietJake @GoAskAlice Along with all who are concern and have...

It was a mighty sigh of relief when I heard from @myLotBugs last night (+8GMT) that the bug was resolved and that we (Mainland China members) can access the site without any hassle and the use of VPN or proxies. So. thank you for your kind words and support here.

@TiarasOceanView I could not claim any thing since I could not reply earlier due to the accessing problem. I literally had to communicate further with the admin on my off day which was a few days more late than I'd like. Could not help feeling bad for my fellow countrymen who are baffled and do not have VPN services available.

@pgntwo However, all would not be well if you had not alerted me with some critical feedback as to what is happening around. I remembered your response which led me to more discovery, so thank you for this. I am sure along with quite a number of mainland China members who will be reading both posts on this matter, that your participation was crucial.

@vandana7 The beginning is still an end, though, just it's the front end rather than the rear, or back, end :)

I have to agree that it certainly was when @myLotBugs came in from my private message that they including him, of course - had found the bug and addressed it. So officially we do not have to access the old site and use VPN/Proxies to access the new site. Thank you for your support and kind words.

It's really good to hear that the problem has been solved now. There's another mylotter here who is experiencing the same problem, and suddenly she was able to login to mylot. I was wondering what the reason was, and now I understand it. Glad that you have brought up this issue to mylotBugs and have been so patient about this too. Hope you'll continue enjoy mylotting!

I believe due credit should be to the technical admin and admin who have never been impatient or complacent. Their tireless efforts are commendable so please do not thank me for I can only give them some assistance of providing the information they needed, which really is rather insignificant compared to what they had done. So thank you @GoAskAlice @myLotBugs and all the background workers here. Also to ALL the members here who had shown some help, interests, motivation and support where without them I would not be able to concur the problem's magnitude.

You know that bug really made me frustrated in the past weeks. As I couldn't login Mylot in the office for several weeks. However, I can access to it at home all the time. Although I know Mylot is not banned because in the office I can still browse all the pages except for the login page. If it is banned, I will not be able to see Mylot at all.

I can understand what you were going through and after sounding off with @GoAskAlice which did not see much follow-up I just had to be more dramatic with my earlier post. I do not blame any one for the earlier episode since it is a new bug which caught everyone by surprise. But behind my head, it was telling me that our authorities could not be responsible for this since we could see literally everything here. I think we owe the hardworking admin for their patience in waiting for my follow up with them and their tireless efforts here.

Glad that you have resolved the problem with the technical team. I think that is the way many countries block gambling sites. It is impossible to enforce the ban, so they will find a way to block something from downloading.

I missed this post, and I am happy that myLot solved this problem. I like the paragraph about "misdemeanors". If a person was important enough to decide China to ban a site, I suppose that China would put in place the means needed to find this person. Your discussions are always interesting : critical thinking is not a crime.

Thank you for your support that you have generously given especially during those critical times of this incident. Including the rest of the responding members let me just say that it was indeed a comfort and a much needed relief to realize the magnitude of the problem for without all including you, we would never be able to see this success.

From the discovery of bug, I don't think so too. But, I suppose there will be some technicalities to look out and the tech needs to be aware constantly.
