I came home at % or so P.M. from my daughter´s house. I was very tired. I taught Sofía her reading lesson, but she is a lot more stubborn at her own house. I had to tell her that unless she read a sentence (she can do it) she would not see Netflix. I think chidren have many things today that keep them away from their duties. Then my daughter told me that she was very mad a Vicente (12). Until now, he was an A student. Now he is "bored" and his grades went down to C. My daughter yells and nothing comes out of it. I told her to confiscate the 2 things he loves most. Last weekend, at the beach, he read 3 books. Each one had around 400 pages. The rest of the time he plays with my daughter´s tablet. I guess that a boy who can read a thousand pages and more in 2 days, can read 4 pages in his history book to learn a bit about the men in the caves. So, stufies are first and play comes later. I know that I´m an old witch, but I love them. All I ask is that they do what they are capable of. Now, after a 2 hour nap alone at home, I can finally do some mylotting. Home sweet home!

@Hatley My daughter is taking him every Saturday to special courses the University has for gifter children. But it is difficult to be the smallest in a class, only because of intellifence. I was taken up 2 grades at school and it made me miserable. The other girls, bigger, bullied me.

You cannot blame today' kids. They have such temptations that lessons are truly a bore. Anyway what can those marks bring them unless they pursue their interest and search for their aptitude and go after it. I think parents should be on the look out too.

I didn´t like school much either. But I knew that I had to do my homework. Or else.

And it is important that children know that they have duties.
