Pink or yellow biscuits, that's the real question.

German biscuits traditionally come with either white, yellow or pink icing, sometimes with desiccated coconut. Sitting alone in a café savouring a pot of Earl Grey tea I've been presented with a pink German biscuit. I'm tempted to ask if I can have a yellow one instead for no reason other than that I am a man and I feel a bit uncomfortable eating a pink biscuit. It seems that I'm not as liberated a man as I assume I am.

Pink buns, a firm favourite in the staff coffee bar where I work... That sounds worse than I mean it to, and it's no better if I swap "buns" for "muffins" as is the practice in the US, I am told.

I would quickly remove the embarrassment by eating the biscuit, which I could do faster than they could change it.
