Horrible accident - yet noone sees the issue

Where I live we have a lot of meenonites living around here. Therefore we have a lot of horses and carriages ont he roads. I guess because I grew up with it doesn't phase me.
But most who move from the city tend to be clueless. They fly by them and almost hit them well today that just happened. 9 have gone to hospital seriously injured (those in the carriage), 1 died (in the carriage), house has died, and the two within the car were minor injures.
It is always sad to hear this yet it just keeps happening especially during the summer months when there is a lot of tourists.

Maybe signs need to be placed so that people are aware of who and what is going on in the area.
That is so sad that they were hurt and killed.

There are loads of signs up everywhere yet most people don't notice them. This is the first fatal accident but this could of been prevented.

@andriaperry I do believe so. My friend was down the road just said the car was speeding and didn't move over.

Perhaps they should create a special way like a bicycle lane and not allow slow moving vehicles along the main road

We're in farm country here. You have slow moving tractors, and carriages on every road. The roads are two lanes. I have never had an issue but many from the city tour up here and that is what causes the accidents. Not sure how they could hit 2horses and a carriage larger than most vans or trucks.1 person likes this
