Is teaching a job or passion?

In most developed countries, teaching is a profession. However, in many parts of country, it is still regarded as just a job. One of my lectures is about developing a teaching profession. A successful teacher is a passionate teacher who behaves in a professional manner, whether Chinese or foreign. So if you regard it as your career, then do your best and love all the work you do;enjoy every moment with your kids,at last you will learn a lot from them.

True. I am a lecturer and I really enjoy it. I am passionate about it and it doesn't feel like a job at all.

I am a teacher though I am not teaching in school. Teaching is such a noble profession. It requires passion and a lot of dedication. You have to be knowledgeable, you have to be compassionate but tough, you have to patient more than 100%.

@Zhaoxiaoyue One cannot teach without passion for it. If we treat it as just a plain job then it will become more of a burden.

Teaching is a job when you do it for the salary that you can get but if you do it because you want the students to learn and would go out of your way to make them understand then that is passion.

Teacher is a profession to find a job. Passion is another story. It is the will of a person to practice such profession as a teacher.

Very good advice. A good teacher needs to love what she/he is doing, or they should be in a different profession.

I wish it really was. Most look at it from the earning angle.
