We never knew our flat was so bad until.......

Before shifting to our new location we were in the process of selling our flat in the city. Many buyers visited our flat and each of them had so many bad things to say about our flat which we were not even aware of. We always thought ours was the best maintained with a good approach to all facilities Someone said we had no view of anyone visiting the building which we always thought was good as that gave us privacy. There were others who said that the railway station was far which we thought was nice as we were away from the noise one hears when the train passes by. There was yet another one who did not like us having too many windows which they thought would be labour intensive having to open and close them.............. In other words what we thought were good points in a giffy they were all seen as bad. We did sell the flat finally to a company who was buying it out as a guest house. They had nothing to say good or bad - they just bought it What has been your experience?

We all have different views about a place. What we may consider a good place, someone else may not like it. It takes all kinds of people to make up this world.

@allknowing that's definitely a good thing. Then there's also the fact that you were able to sell your flat.

@dodo19 If only this offer had come to us first we would not have had to listen to all those bad things about our flat

Oh with this post it reminded me of people's perspective. We all have different opinion and whatever works for you may not work for them. But I am glad you were able to sell it .

We got a very nice deal. It was through an agent. We had quoted a price and we got that price little did we know the buyers had a budget higher than what we had quoted

@dazzledlady After so many rejections you think we would have the guts to raise the price?

I hate all real estate. Another rigged game. Money wise and not from you. I really am starting to think supply and demand are not what it is about. It is more supply, but only if you have money. Demand is always there and many people they could care less about. Sorry just makes my juices flow.

It just goes to show that people really do see things differently. I haven't sold a house for over 40 years, but someone didn't want a friend of mine's house because the garden would take too much maintenance. It was a lovely big garden.

They really tired us out. But in the end the one who finalised the deal made no comments at all.

i'd some troubles rentin' momma's house some years back. its a huge backyard, which i found's a bonus - others saw't's too much work. some grumbled 'bout the beautiful dark wood trim 'n cabinetry, others loved't. some folks ya jest can't make happy. i'm glad that'cha finally got't sold. all those thingies others complained 'bout, would'a been perfect fer myself if'n i was lookin' fer a place'n the city.

It is true that everyone wants something different. We sold one house as soon as it went on the market as the first person to view it came when we had all the sprinklers running. We had our own bore at that place. He had always been short of water and to him, the sight of so much water on the gardens and trees swayed his opinion.

If the one who bought our flat came first we would not have heard all the bad points. They just came saw the place and agreed to the amount we had quoted.

Some people will like the things you like and others won't so not much you can do about it but I was always able to sell and pretty much at the price I wanted.

Buyers tend to find fault and criticize just so you would lower the price and they would get a discount, although this maybe the case, some arguments might be legit so it's also nice to listen so faults could be corrected.

We possibly could not rectify the situation as it was only a matter of choice that was discussed. We would never choose to stay near a railway station for example (lol)
