I have to give FitBit credit. They have come out with a new way to motivate people to take more steps. It is a new line in the app (and I presume the online site) that tracks the hours from 9 to 5 that you have taken at least 250 steps during each hour. You are supposed to try to light up each hour by moving more and taking 250 steps (or presumably more).
At first I thought it was kind of dumb, but don't you know I've found myself moving more so I could see that stupid dot lit up on the app? Hey, anything to get the dumb Americans to move, right? It works so I give them credit for that and I have to say that I like it.

I saw this feature today.
Even though I already went for a short jog, which covered my 'active minutes' goal; and will surely help meet my steps goal before the end of the day; I realize that there are more goals to accomplish!
It's just past 4pm now, and I've only lit up 3 dots so far!

It is amazing how a 'stupid dot' or something similar will motivate us, isn't it?
