How to get good interaction going here at myLot

United States
April 6, 2016 8:11am CST
It isn't that difficult, it doesn't take much thought - just use the name myhLot in the title and it will begin. The title will draw people in and then it is your job to give them something to 'talk' about. If you don't believe me, just go over and check out some of the discussions that @JolietJake (aka JJ) starts. He knows how to do it. He is a guy who spends time reading and commenting a lot and he picks up on an idea quickly and runs with it. He has the ability to get lots of comments and likes on discussions. Oh sure, we can't have 100 percent myLot discussions, it would get old after a day, not to mention boring. But throw one in once in a while and see where it goes. After all, the thing we all have in common is myLot. Photo:Photo: pixabay.com/en/dialog-tip-advice-hint-speaking-148815/

You are absolutely correct. Any post directly dealing with myLot always gets a big response. The same thing happened at Persona Paper. But you are right, there is only so much can write or comment about the site itself.

Yes, happens at any site...it's human nature. We want to 'hear' the stuff about the site we participate in.

This does seem to work because any discussion referring to aspects of the site always appears to generate a great amount of activity or interaction. I suspect that it may be because it gives virtually every member an easy way to respond. This is the only way that we know will work because with most discussions it can impossible to predict whether they will be popular or not.

Exactly. The critical point is the discussion has to have some meat to it, or you won't get many comments. Just using the name int he title won't get too many responses.

@AbbyGreenhill At times I have submitted discussions that I considered very good, while acquiring more interaction on some that were rather mediocre. This makes predicting success extremely difficult.

@Asylum It also depends on the day - Sunday is too slow for even good stuff.

You're right. I haven't tried it here, but some of my most successful posts at Bubblews were about the site and the bad behaviour of some of its members.

@AbbyGreenhill It was unbelievable what some people got away with. Many of the plagiarised posts I reported were never deleted.

There was some serious bad behavior there wasn't there.

For some people it is for sure. Start a discussion that people are interested in and be sure to reply back to the comments as that will get your more comments....and so on and so on.

Participating in discussions is very good, but unfortunately can take up more time than most of us have to offer.

There are a lot of people here who spend a lot of time here...but you don't have to be on here half the day to get a good discussion going.

The important is to write something that can be interesting enough to make people discuss. Not all the discussion can be successful, but if there is some meat, people come to eat.

@AbbyGreenhill I am also hungry this morning, I only had a slice of bread with some jam, I will soon go down for a second cup of coffee and something more interesting to eat.
