I am actually, in the midst of writing my fictional novel & have arrived at a plot, where the protagonist need to erase the memory of some miscreants through some slow poison or medication. I am ok to keep the medicine as some chemical liquid (since its a fiction)...but I also want to understand, is there in reality some medicine/chemical which can actually erase memory (either temporary or permanent). Pls share your knowledge...

lol @Missmwngi - if there's none, then I'll apply some fictional chemical name to it :)

@xFiacre was it a temporary loss of memory or a permanent one?

@nomus24g he cant remember the horrors, just the fact that he was given the medication. Something to do with nerves in his head

Well I don't really know but couldn't you make up a fictitious one? Just for the sake of your novel...

It seems very unlikely. However, if anyone did develop such a potion they would probably not remember.
