For those frustrated BlogJob members waiting impatiently to get back to work on their blogs, I've just visited the site to see what's going on. Although it's not possible to log in, the site is accessible for readers, so I was able to visit Sheridan's profile and see his latest update, posted about 15 hours ago. Apparently this is the final stage of moving the site to its new servers, so it could be a long process. Sheridan says he hopes it will take less than 24 hours but it could be longer.

@crazyhorseladycx It's a nice site for people who want to write a proper blog and get paid a bit for their efforts. But after our experience at sites like Bubblews, members tend to get a bit nervous when the site isn't accessible. That's why I wanted to pass on the information I had.

@Dawwriter I've also been spending a lot of extra time here, but I really want to get onto BlogJob to earn the 117 points I need to cash out. Hopefully it won't be long now.

@Gina145 117 points is so tantalizingly close. It must be tough for you to have to wait patiently. Good luck and i hope you get paid quickly.

@Dawwriter - Other sites I've tried have gone belly up and my work had to be transplanted. (Sigh.) All that effort down the tubes. BlogJob - as noted @Gina145 - is a great place if you want your blogging efforts to be worth the time you expend. Tried to maintain a stand alone blog but being a part of a blogging community is much better. MyLot as a social network is also worthwhile. Both of these places have provided monetary incentives which have encouraged me to continue on with my work at home / residual income earning projects.

I believe that moving a site like this one will take more than 24 hours. Good luck to them.

@LadyDuck You may well be right. I hope it doesn't take too much longer, but I guess all the members can do is be patient.

Even though I've not done much with blogjob since coming here to mylot, this info is good to know. I peeked at the site a bit ago, before when I liked this post, and it was still in maintenance mode at that time. Looks like another member here wrote about this very thing yesterday as well.

@MarshaMusselman I saw a post written by somebody who was worried about how long BlogJob was under maintenance so I went to see if I could get any more information. Once I saw that an extended period of maintenance was predicted I decided to pass the information on to allay other members' fears.

@MarshaMusselman I think the posts on the right are usually ones on similar topics, and a lot of people seem to be worried about how long BlogJob has been in maintenance so I'm not surprised there are a few posts about it right now.

@Gina145 I don't have a problem that you wrote about the same topic, and I didn't look at her post to see what it said. I just found it interesting that it showed up on the right side of yours.

I know its killing me and the bank! You know me and I have a little time in the morning a little time at night till I get the rentals ready/ rented. But I am sure its needed or he would not be doing this. because the longer he is off line for us the longer he is offline for making his own money.

@andriaperry I'm sure it's needed. The old servers obviously couldn't cope with such a big site. It's my guess that that's why the site has been closed for new membership for so long. I don't post as often as you do, so it's probably not hurting my bank that badly, but I'm so close to 10,000 points that I'd really like to be able to cash out soon.

@miniam I don't have any experience to compare it to, but it certainly looks like this one will take a long time. BlogJob is quite a big site.

@miniam Thankfully it isn't something I've ever had to do. It sounds like really hard work.

It's good that they are migrating to new servers, I think the site will be faster and it's better for the bloggers and readers as well. I hope they will consider opening the registration for new members soon too.

@Gina145 I just checked on it after reading this discussion. It seems like the registration is open. I registered, but having problem logging in yesterday. I just tried again, it seems like I can login now. But I haven't really start looking around yet. So, I am still not sure if they are still testing or it's really working for new registration. Anyway, thanks for your discussion, otherwise I might not remember to go and try it out.

@kaka135 I agree that it's a good thing. The move is over, but there are still a few glitches that need to be ironed out. So far they're not accepting new members, but I'd like to believe that will happen soon.

@jobelbojel I'm sure they do. It's taking a long time, so it's good to know that Sheridan said it could take a few days.

butterfly
Moving to new servers is MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR! For most community sites like BlogJob, making the transition is a bear!! Sometimes when you think it's completed, that's when the real nightmare begins. But it's not that way for everybody! BlogJob will hopefully make it through the transition and come out on the other end as a beautiful butterfly. (Image credit: commentsyard.com)
