How to motivate children to have a winning mentality?

Encourage children to have a winning mentality is not easy work. I have experience of the toughest when motivate my eldest daughter that she had motivation to become a champion, especially in schools.
Hi friends, do you have tips to motivate children to have the winning mentality?

I think one of the things I used to do for my son was praise him very often.
And give him confidence and security in self.
I always told him how good he was lolz

Yes, you are right, confidence and security is one thing that can encourage children to be a winner. Thank you...I will try apply your strategy. I hope it will help to motivate my daughter.

Children can be hard to motivate but as @OceanTiara says giving a child praise when he does well will help.
