Day 19
Psalm 19
Psalm 19:1 < The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handiwork.
2 Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night shows knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run a race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
What makes you so happy you find yourself singing and humming songs, a smile cannot be wiped from your face and nothing anybody does upsets you? Days like that are few, but they happen and when they do, we hold onto them with all our might refusing to let them slip away from us.
David felt the same as he penned the words to this psalm. It’s a song of praise from first word to last. He could see and hear God all around him. It was in the stars that shown at night and the sun by day. It was in reading God’s law and committing it to his heart. He rejoiced in knowing God intimately, and longed to stay in close proximity to God so that sin could not cloud his life. He didn’t want anything, including the words of his mouth to come between him and his relationship with God.
When you look at the world around you, what do you see? Do you see God’s handiwork or man’s destruction? When you’re with friends or coworkers do you want to be there because it brings a sense of fulfillment, or can you barely wait to get away because the atmosphere is tearing you down?
Life is full of contrasts. We need to look at the positives and eliminate the negatives from our lives. When we do, we will see God at work all around us. God will be in and through everything we say and do. God’s energy will flow through us and we will want to do our very best for him.
1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. (KJV)
Become infected with God’s praise. Let it be on your tongue and in your heart and you will have a smile on your face and it will become infectious, as people all around you will catch your joy.
Let’s pray: Father let my life be a song of praise for all you have done for me. Let joy reign in my heart and in my life as I go forward doing my best in everything I lay my hand to do. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

This is also one of the psalms that shows David was a true psalmist. The praises are above the time of need ones
