From the iPod #37 - "Desire"

Gene Loves Jezebel was an alternative glam-rock band led by twin brothers Jay and Michael Aston. Often lumped in with the goth movement of the 80's--the All Music Guide called them "the hair metal equivalent of a goth band," which is accurate, other than they weren't a goth band. If anything, they were a glam-pop band that made great pop songs. Eventually, an irrepairable rift developed between the Aston brothers, resulting in an acrimonious split that saw both recording and touring as Gene Loves Jezebel. I have seen all three versions of the band, and have met both Jay and Michael. I'll just say that one of them was very friendly and happy to have put on a good show, the other was bitter and angry and bashed his brother almost nonstop. "Desire" is a popular tune from the brother's glory days. It is not goth, nor anything remotely resembling goth. It is, however, a very radio-friendly piece of glam-pop, with emphasis on "pop," a perfect song for the 1980's. And it still sounds great decade's later.
From their 1986 "Discover' LP. More info:http://www.genelovesjezebel.com/ and http://www.genelovesjezebel.co.uk/

Stumped ya, huh? Seriously, these guys were pretty good together. Probably should have had more mainstream success than they did.

I remember Gene Loves Jezebel from the MTV 120 Minutes days. And it's sad that the brothers can't reconcile. That's what has plagued countless bands over the decades, from the Blue Sky Boys in old country to the Kinks to Oasis.

Aren't the Gallagher brothers famous for getting into fistfights onstage sometimes? Now that would be an entertaining show. For the wrong reason, but entertaining nonetheless.

I have Voodoo Dollies Best Of. Of the two, I thought Michael's stuff was better. But yeah, they were a great 80's band when they were still getting along.
