Elections here in the Philippines will happen next month. Just thinking about it is making me tired. In truth, I don't feel like voting anymore but it's my obligation as a citizen to do so. My dismay stems from the fact that no matter who becomes president, everything might still remain the same if the people themselves won't meet the leaders halfway. It's exasperating that everybody has divided in the name of someone who they want to lead but mark my words, after a few months or years, there will be complaints, even attempts of impeachments. It's not just politicians who are corrupt. Anyone can be corrupted. Practically anyone who has something to gain wherever his or her position is, as long as money is involved. This is why I believe all countries have some sort of corruption in them to some degree. The only way to measure it is how satisfied the people are.
Then again, it's been like that ever since Rome and Greece. The truth remains that no matter who becomes president, nothing will change if the people won't change as well. If nobody wants to change for the better, if nobody wants anything that will inconvenience them from the norm, if nobody wants to do anything that equates to hard work, the cycle will go on and on and on. Which is why for change to happen, it is not just a leader who inspires that the people need, but people who genuinely want something better.

Can't you believe it? even to this day I'm still undecided. Though People whom I've supported with already made their choices. But for me, change will happen if people themselves make the decision to discipline themselves and make good contribution to the country.
