Hubby and I have been out yanking grass and unkempt weeds. Whoa on the April June heat. Just a lovely morning. Bleeding hearts and tulips and periwinkle all busy blooming. Apple trees blooming. Love the green warmth. Meantime the white neighbor horse kept an eye on us. She typically gets hay in the evening and has little to graze on otherwise. You ever met a horse who didn't like and crave breakfast? Hubby feels super bad about that old neighbor mare. He carefully bundled all the green stuff that he laboriously yanked and when he had a couple of good sized garbage bags, he and I walked over to the fence and unloaded. The mare trotted right over. Kind of like having a neglected grand kid.

You canĀ“t leave an animal or person hundry because it is not behaving.

@marguicha I agree. The horse is technically cared for but not very well.

@marguicha I agree. I think of the total picture with animals- social and mental as well as physical. Some folks don't. I believe that horses are as social as dogs. Some folks don't think that way and leave the horse out in the pasture alone except for the moment they toss hay at it or give it water.

@TiarasOceanView He knew the areas needed weeded so he figured he might as well give the stuff to somebody rather than dumping it on the compost pile.

@softbabe44 Her eyes just gleamed. Its good that she gets hay but I think horses like fresh feed, too.
