My new laminate flooring

Laminate flooring

It has been a long drawn out process, but I now have the laminate flooring laid in both rooms. It actually looks better now it is laid than it appeared as a sample, so I am extremely happy with the outcome. Now comes the long laboriuous process of gradually transferring each item from the living room and kitchen back into the bedrooms. I will be cleaning each item as they are transferred, which will al least result in an excellent level of spring cleaning. The fun part will be reattaching all the cables and leads to the rear of my desktop computer. My computer’s audio system alone had 6 cables to reconnect.

It looks even better than the photograph shows because it is a richer tone.

I had new carpets fitted in the living room and stairs a couple of years ago, but the bedroom carpets were looking old. It looks even better than I expected.

The floor looks beautiful! I hear ya about connecting computers, I dread doing it myself. I wish I could have floors that look that good, but the cats would ruin them in short order.

I would imagine cats may ruin them if they scratch a lot, but they are so easy to clean.

It really looks nice. I love my laminate flooring as well. It is in all the rooms but the bathrooms and kitchen. My son laid it for me, and he really worked hard at it too. The only room, he didnt have to do was the living room as it was already laid there. I had to make sure that i bought the same colorr, and I had to find out from the previous owner where they got it from, and then I would get it from the same place. I bought enough, and in fact, there are two boxes left over, but I have them for repairs in case I would have to have some replaced, which I do a few, as they got water under them, and it didn't get wiped up right away, and it cause the flooring to come up on one corner. As a whole though, it looks really good, and I love it.

The effect of water is the only real problem, but it is an excellent flooring material.

@rosekiss It would certainly make a difference when cleaning up dog hairs, which would stick to a carpet.

@Asylum Yes, it certainly is. There was carpeting, and my decided that since the living room already had it, that laminate flooring was better, since I was planning on having dogs. I have been enjoying the laminate flooring, and glad that I have it and not carpeting.

@Asylum That's so awesome! I am so happy for you. =) One day if I ever own a home I want pergo flooring in it. My husband did a job for his customers with that and it also looked amazing! I will show you a picture of it.

@LovingMyBabies The surface of the flooring is very reflective, as seen by the window reflected on the floor. I had the same problem and finally closed the curtains and took a lower shot to reduce the effect, which is why mine appears lighter than it really is.

The floor looks lovely! I am very happy with my over 10 year old laminated floor in my first floor. It is easy to clean and a lot more healthy than carpet.

That is very nice looking flooring. We have had wall to wall carpeting for many years and keep thinking we should do what you have done. We probably will one day.

Your floor looks really lovely and very similar to ours although our planks may not be quite so wide. I can never understand where all these cords come from or where they all go!

Your new flooring looks great Barry. I know what it means to reattach all the cables. I usually take photos when I move something, because there are two computers, one scanner, one laser printer and a NAS storage in our room.

@AbbyGreenhill Routers are designed to be in constant use, so mine is also on permanent. It probably gets warm underneath, but should remain cold where air can circulate. Some routers have stands to keep them upright for this reason.
