The time has come to go upstairs and do some reading before we get to sleep. It is always a cherish time for us to go and read in bed together, has been that way for decades. Do you enjoy reading before falling asleep?

If I can't sleep, I get up and read. But I generally don't read in bed, I can't get comfortable with a boot in bed.

Oh yeah. I read to all four of my children almost every night before bed and then grab my own book to read. Don't know when I started the bedtime reading, but I have been reading novels since I was 13 and haven't stopped since.

@Carmelanirel2 I would be lost without books too, so I always make sure that I have some waiting for me.

We do the same, we close the doors and shutters downstairs and we go upstairs to read together in bed before to sleep. This is a 40 years old routine.

Yes. One of my sure fire ways to fall asleep is to read a book or two.

You can't possibly read "a book or two" in one evening.

@marlina I don't read and finish the whole book, just bits and pieces of it. Sometimes, i read my favorite parts and that does the trick.

@allen0187 When I read a book, I read it from beginning to the last word.

We watch a little news and a bit of HGTV just to relax before going to sleep in our bedroom. We read elsewhere in the house at different times and in different rooms. We've been doing the same for decades, too. We all have moments we cherish. The point is, being together with our loved one.

I'm usually mylotting or playing my games before bedtime. I don't have a comfortable pillow with which to sit in the bed which doesn't have any headboard. I have read laying down before, but that gets uncomfortable after a short time. I've not read a good book since last year. I get my reading in right here at present.

I love to read but I'm just not able to read in bed. I can't get in a comfortable enough position so I read downstairs before going up to bed.

I usually do read in bed, before I fall asleep. It's been of a routine. Some nights I'm just too tired to read, so I may skip some nights, but generally I'll read in bed, before turning the lights off and falling asleep.

I do not, however, my dear friend Angelo, for him a book is like a "sleeping pill"!
