And here we are, with the #1 Tune on my Top 10 Bad Brains Songs series. This whole Top 10 thing you might have seen was inspired by @JohnRoberts' Linda Ronstadt Top 10. You also might have noticed a series of series' by @FourWalls: Elton John, Merle Haggard (Top 20!) and Warren Zevon. Bad Brains is a hardcore punk band from Washington D.C. Despite several breakups over the years, the classic Bad Brains lineup (vocalist H.R., guitarist Dr. Know, bassist Darryl Jennifer, and drummer Earl Hudson, who is H.R.'s brother) is together and still rocking sold out crowds. "Banned in D.C." is one of the band's most popular songs, two minutes of fury that includes not only a tempo change but an actual guitar solo from Dr. Know. A version is available on the band's self-titled debut (which was originally released on cassette-only.) You'll also find an album version on Rock for Light, the band's second record. That version is also on the Banned in D.C. best of compilation. It's highly deserving of it's #1 ranking on my series.

That reminds me of a Quentin Tarantino film, but I can't think of which one

I haven't seen all of his films, but I'm drawing a blank on what I have seen.

@Ronrybs - You never know, Tarantino does use good music in his films.

@teamfreak16 I am sure there is no connection, just the old brain box making a random join up

Thanks so much for sharing your ten favorite Bad Brains songs! I prefer the reggae Bad Brains, but who can argue with how seamlessly they change genres of music from reggae to hardcore punk! Thanks again!

I wish more people would do these, they have no idea how much fun they are.

Now that's an eye opener! I can almost envision the mosh pit and head banging.
