Day 25 Psalm 25 Psalm 25:1 < Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. 2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. 3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. 4 Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. 5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. 6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old. 7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD. 8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. 9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. 10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. 11 For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. 12 What man is he that fears the LORD? Him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. 13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth. 14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant. 15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net. 16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted. 17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses. 18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins. 19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred. 20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee. 21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee. 22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles. All roads lead home. I’m sure you’ve heard that statement before. I’ve been lost many times when I go where I’ve never been before, but I’ve always taken comfort in the fact that all roads lead home. Eventually, I will find my way back. God has paths that lead straight to him as well. His paths are mercy and truth, justice and forgiveness, and a contrite heart. Though God has many paths, there is still only one way and that is through Jesus Christ, his Son. John 14:6 Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. When you take a college course for your career choice you have many subjects you need to take, but they are all under one heading, and when you graduate you will have your degree in that field. God’s paths are like that. Once you embark on salvation’s road, having accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, then you need to learn what salvation means. It means loving your neighbor as well as your enemy. Showing mercy and forgiveness when someone wrongs you. It means coming to God with a repentant heart when you’ve done something wrong. It means exemplifying the fruit of the Holy Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, meekness, gentleness, and self-control. In order to have those in your lives you must learn them, and that means you need to be taught. The Holy Spirit is your teacher and guide when it comes to all the paths of God. As we’re being taught by the Holy Spirit, learning to trust him for everything in our lives, we also want assurance that God will forgive us and remember our sins no more. We do not want to be reminded of how bad we were before we accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. We have God’s promise that he will do just that. Psalm 103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. I’ve heard or read a statement, I believe it was Corrie Ten Boom who said something to the effect we are to cast our sins into the sea and put a no fishing sign in that place so we don’t dredge them up again. We have the Holy Spirit to teach us everything we need to know as a child of God, and he will keep us from fishing in our past and continuing in our sin. Let the Holy Spirit guide you down salvation’s road and teach you, and you too will feel the freedom found in God’s forgiveness. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for salvation found in your Son, Jesus. Send your Holy Spirit to teach me, so I will learn what I need to know as your child. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 13 April 2016 by Valerie Jean Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

I always liked that too. God wipes them out, we should remember that and not go after them again.

Great post and goes along with my Sunday school lesson this week on God's Blessings are Found in the Way. You confirmed to me I'm heading in the right direction with this post. I ask Him to show me that I'm where I need to be and through conversation, readings or someone's prayer He always confirms I am doing the right lesson. He also almost always has Sammy, our preacher, in his message to us reaffirm something that I said or like last week even used the same text for the message. Have a blessed day.
