Former Minnesota Vikings and Baltimore Ravens tight end Chase Ford on Wednesday has been signed by the Cleveland Browns. Ford was released by the Ravens on Tuesday after they signed Dennis Pitta on the same day. The Ravens had no room for Ford on their roster for the 2016 football season. The Browns will pay Ford his $1.67 million dollar salary that the Ravens would have paid him had he stayed with the team this year. Ford played two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings from 2013-2014 and one season with the Ravens in 2015. Ford was played on the injured reserved list on November 30, 2015 with a shoulder injury which may have been a factor why the Ravens decided to release him despite the fact he signed a one year contract on March 24, 2016. Now Ford gets to play football with the Browns who are the arch rival of the Baltimore Ravens during the 2016 football season.

$1.67 million seems like a bargain rate.
