I'm a basket person. Are you a basket or cart person?

Right when I approach the market, I reach down to grab a basket. Baskets are easier to maneuver in the store without having to say excuse me everywhere you go. Plus, this particular store isn't very wide for carts. I usually don't buy that many items since we frequently go grocery shopping so my basket won't be "heavy". And when we do buy heavier items like days when we shop for our milk, juices, more heavier items - my boyfriend would go too and prefers the basket, too! At other stores where the items are larger, like a Wholesale (Costco, Sams Club) you don't have a choice but a cart or your bare hands so I prefer grabbing a cart to use. If the store has an option for a basket or cart - which one do you grab?

You must not buy much - I couldn't use a basket if they paid me to use one...I'd need 10 of them.

Definitely the cart. The basket gets heavy so quickly!

Sometimes the carts are hard to navigate in tight spaces. I get frustrated when it's like that or it's so crowded you can't get across easy so I use the basket too.

If I'm shopping for just a few things I'll get a basket but if I'm doing a bigger shop I'll get a trolley (cart).

@infatuatedbby we have all sorts of differing words between the US and UK. I'm thinking of doing a discussion on it sometime.

It depends on what I'm getting. Sometimes I get neither and load myself up, looking like a guy too stupid to know there are carts and baskets available at the door.

You're that guy! Haha just kidding! Hopefully you don't load up too much, buy what you need with your hands and come out with spending not too much or over stuff your cart. May be a good idea actually.

Oftentimes I grab the cart because I am lazy going out so if I go to grocery stores I buy things good for two weeks.

Most of the time I will take a basket because usually the aisle is narrow in the supermarket. I don't want to take a cart to block the aisle. Besides, usually I will not buy so many stuff and a basket will be good enough for me.

Seeing I'm only shopping for myself it's normally a basket.

Basket, because I don't buy a lot and it makes my shopping easier when it comes to moving from one aisle to another compared when I'm pushing a cart.

I agree - it is much easier to navigate the store. And sometimes get confused which cart is yours too if there's a lot of carts.

l do pick a cart if i have extra money with me and looking for surprise purchase otherwise it`s basket.I find that picking a cart makes me buy what l did not plan for.

I don't really prefer one to the other. It just depends on what I'm buying. If I'm shopping for small stuff I grab a basket. If I'm grocery shopping, or getting something like a huge bag of dog food I grab a cart. If I only have one item I won't grab either, just get my item and go.

I always go for the cart. Perhaps if I grabbed a basket instead, I would save money.
