Unfinished

I saw this blog post from a very talented Filipina writer. It’s a challenge she set for herself: to write something, anything for thirty days, nonstop. I find it inspiring, doable. A task I think I can keep myself inclined to doing since I need some kind of diversion right at this moment. So here I am with Day 1. A gloomy Monday spent at the office with nothing to do but endless paperwork. If only we can extend the weekend. Wishful thinking. While on the train, my mind was elsewhere, weaving lines after lines of blurry afterthoughts. It’s been a long while since I wrote something which resembled a poem. Gloomy weather always provokes the miserable poet in me. Thought you’d wanna drown in my misery too. Slowly fading You are And it breaks me into pieces. What started Perfect, sweet Is now a chasm, desolate. Devoid of all Emotions Yet I’m bleeding, lifeless. Was holding on To nothing But lousy broken promises. Must I regret The days I kissed the ground you walked. … … … A fool I was to believe Your love was true Eternal. … … … As you can see, some lines are missing. Maybe I’d find the courage to complete this trash. Or maybe I’ll let it stay unfinished. Forever.

I think your poem has great potential. You should finish it one day. It's very good.

@sol_cee No, I like the poem, even though your poem is about a bird and not exactly what I saw in the poem.

@sol_cee Because I could feel the poet in you. Know what? I hope I have a richer vocabulary (like you), & more exposure (reading, trying to write more, etc), in poetry. I just love its way of expressing a writer's joy, sadness, grief, disbelief & other emotions. Gosh!

To those who can relate...you expressed the thought very well-even with add about the missing and unfinished verse and the concept of eternity-actually, I like that a lot.

Anyway you have written something, so that is a good start. i think when we have the habit to write, it does not matter what we write, we will definitely write something.

Right. Asking us not to write is like asking us not to breathe.

Oh, was that unfinished ? It's actually a beautiful poem and to me it's finished with you declaring that you were a fool to believe the love was true and eternal .
