Cooking While Cooking, Baking While Baking!

Hi all! Yeah, I have been baking while baking. Cooking while cooking. Autumn has still not arrived in JHB. It is already 68 Fahrenheit, 20 degrees Celsius at 9:30 in the morning that equals hot. My sister and I baked "koeksisters" not sure if I have mentioned them here before, a "koeksister" is dough that is plaited, deep fried in oil and dipped in melted sugar sauce. I am including a photo I took of them. I am, like I said before, an emotional eater. And I don't like take aways. So when I am upset or going through insomnia, like I did last night again, well I cook or bake, I just wish the weather would cool down a bit, so I don't feel I am also being baked or cooked. Isn't it a pain when someone is getting along with someone you don't like? I don't care how old a person is, when you consider someone fake or self inflated, you wish everyone could see that too. Isn't it a pain when people are not really successful, but believe they can give advice on how to be successful? And that people who are truly successful, never feel the need to give advice? Well, I haven't had much sleep lately, so I might be rambling. Or I might be making perfect sense to some? Either way, from a very hot JHB, I wish you all a happy and blessed week!

I'm sorry it's still so hot for you, but I'm sure it will cool off before you know it. People are people, wherever you live, and I have to agree with you on that! Your koeksisters look heavenly! I would love to make them, if I knew how! Lol! I'll look up a recipe.

@DianneN :) , all you say is true, and I'm glad you agree. If we could share recipes here, I would, but yes, there should be a recipe for koeksisters on the web somewhere. It would be great if you could also make them, Dianne. :)

@ridingbet , yes, cooking and baking is good to get rid of annoyances caused by others :) . Yes, it is almost a type of plaited bread, but smaller, and it is deep fried in oil and dipped in melted sugar.

@bluesa that looks delicious. if those pieces of bread are sole here, than i will just take a small slice, because i am limiting my sugar intake, and i am only allowed to take a piece of loaf bread. no, i am not diabetic at all.

I hope you had a good sleep last night and you really are making perfect sense. But different people look for different things in people so may be they are seeing a side that doesn't appeal to you but does to them if that makes sense.

@BelleStar , hi there :) . Aw, thank you, but, was Still awake at 3 am this morning, I can only see if natural exhaustion will kick in. And yes, what you are saying makes sense, we all see each other differently, a person that rubs me up the wrong way, could easily be someone else's best friend. Why oh why are there always two sides to everything. :)

I fully agree with you about people who want to be advice but they are not successful, they are a real pain. I also love to bake or cook to release the stress. The fried dough in your photo looks great.

Why, thank you, Janet :) , I am glad you agree. @jaboUK , if I had been close by, I would've brought some koeksisters over and we could've had some with tea in your gorgeous garden! Finally rain has started pouring here, we might get autumn temps, yay!

Seems like a lot of people are heroes in their own minds. Enjoy your baking, I get in those moods too. Love to bake.

I am so tempted with your "koeksister". Maybe those who give advice on how to be successful when they themselves are not should rather just follow their own advice lol! And those who are successful but not generous enough to give advice on how to become one should take a course on how to be not too selfish.

I think you need some SLEEP, so you won't think of things that are a waste of time to think about.

Does baking koeksisters always requires a sister with you?

@sol_cee , um, well, it is a lot of work to make, so yeah, you kind of do need a sister, or friend, or brother, or friend, well, someone to help you make them. :D

I hope it calm downs for you. Heat and not being able to sleep drives me batty. Very interesting questions to ponder...
