Have you moved around growing up?

There are times when we need to pack up and move. Parents get new jobs or they lose a job. A house burns down you name it people are moving all the time. We lived in one yellow house for a few years. Then my mom got called for a unit in a nicer building. We packed up and moved to that location and stayed over 20 years. I have since moved around quite a lot with my daughter. I found this place and fell in love. I do believe I will be moving just once more. Have you moved around growing up..

Growing up we lived in the same place that my parents bought and they lived there until their passing then the house was sold.

@sharon6345 I've lived in 18 houses in my 58 years. Probably just one more move - I hope.

My parents never moved when I was a child, although they did talk about doing so the year I had the equivalent of my "high school" exams, but it never happened. My wife and I have moved several times, although no move affected my son who stayed at the same school the whole time (a boarding school). Schooling is the greatest impact of parental moves.

I didn't move when I was a kid. I lived in worcestershire for 19 years and have mostly lived in the "three counties" all my life apart from a few years abroad. Gloucestershire, herefordshire and worcestershire are where I feel at home and I doubt I'd ever move from this area.

When I was young until about 6 or so we lived in one town. After that we moved a mile away and I lived there until I moved out on my own when I was 18. I lived out in the country about 10 miles from my home for about 6 months then I moved in to my grandfathers old house across the street from where I lived from 7 yrs to 18 years. That is where I live now with my children. I've been here since 2003.

I would imagine that would be hard to live with - moving constantly. I was lucky to have stayed in the same house while growing up.

My father had a job transfers are part and parcel of which. While my elder brother stayed at one place to complete his studies, rest of us toed our parents. That means a lot of schools... and after a point I too stopped making friends. Was bitter about the way old ones forgot me...

I only moved twice when I was a child. Since I have been with my husband though we have moved 29 times in 12 years! I am sick of moving to be honest and I am ready to stay in this house for a while.

I've only ever lived in one house. My mom said that when I was a baby we used to live somewhere else, but obviously I can't remember that anymore.

My dad works for the government and I've moved around different parts of india literally every three four years. Its been a good experience except that it's a pain moving out of a city just when you start getting used to it or liking it .

Our family only moved once when I was growing up, but my husband and I moved many times. Hopefully, this house will be our lost because moving is hard!
