I do not like this shift at all. My hubby works on first shift. But they needed him to work on second shift for a few weeks to look at the way things are going there. Well i do not like it at all. He goes into work at around 1 pm and does not get off of work until 11:30 at night. Well that makes it where he is asleep when the kids get up for school and he is gone by the time they get home from school and then he does not get home until after they go to bed. But the good thing is this is the last week he will go back to first shift next week. I am supper happy about that. I stay up and wait for him to get home and then i end up sleeping until it is time for him to get up and get ready. I am getting nothing done in my house LOL. But by the time that he gets home and relaxs a little after work and we get into the bed to go to sleep it is like 2 or 3 in the morning.

It's really hard to have a family time when he's working that shift. I hope he will stay on the normal shift so you can have more time together.

Yes it really is hard. And with him working that shift right now all he does is work and sleep really. But this week he has made time for me he just has not been able to take time for the kids as they have school. But they told him that he will be back on his regular schedule next week.

Yes it has been very sad the last week and a half my children coming home asking if they were going to be able to see daddy tonight or not. There was a few nights last week they went to bed early so that they could get up when he got home to spend a little time with him and to see him and give him love. I hate that.

I do not understand how people see eachother when they work 2nd shift. I used to for a little bit and it really eats up your entire day. Hopefully his svhedule will change soon!

Yes that is for sure. Then he finds out tonight that he is not going to get the weekend off like he should. He was going to make time up with the kids this weekend but he now has to go in and work on sunday but it is during the day so he will be able to be home that night.

I have never worked night shift and while I think it would be nice in one way, I don't think I could do it long term.
