"Call Me" was the pinnacle of Blondie's fame. The song was the band's biggest commercial success standing atop the Billboard chart for six consecutive weeks. Producer-composer Giorgio Moroder was the king of disco and doing the soundtrack for "American Gigolo" starring Richard Gere. After Stevie Nicks turned him down, Moroder turned to Debbie Harry who wrote the lyrics to his music. "American Gigolo" concerned a male escort and "Call Me" relates his story in music. Despite venturing into various musical genres, Blondie always maintained a distinct sound and "Call Me" has a bit of a disco vibe but still is pop rock. The live concert version definitely rocks. 'Picture This' is the ultimate Blondie song in my opinion. The stuff of fantasies for 13 year old boys, which is what I was when it was released in 1978.

That is another good one. The band has way more than just 10 great songs.

I love this song. I thought it set the tone for American Gigolo.
