Is Prince dead? / myLot

I just saw a headline on another site saying that the singer/songwriter Prince has died. However when I Googled "Prince" I found a report from CNN saying that the police were investigating a death at his estate but were not releasing information about the identity of the deceased until the next of kin had been identified. So I'm left wondering - is Prince dead? UPDATE: CNN has now confirmed that Prince is dead.

@quantum2020 I'm about to update this post because CNN has now confirmed that the deceased was in fact Prince. Really sad news.

When I first heard the news, it completely stunned me. I've been a fan of his since Purple Rain came out and I knew how healthy he kept himself, so it just shook me up. And now I find out that he didn't even have a will. I guess he only cared about the money while he was alive. It's amazing how much I've learned about him since he's been gone. But I'd rather just listen to his music. :)

@CRK109 I guess he didn't have a will because he wasn't expecting to die so soon. 57 is still young.

@CRK109 I don't know too much about his personal life, but that does sound like an interesting idea. If that's what he wanted, I hope it works.

@Gina145 I heard on the news today from one of his family members that he just might have done this on purpose so that his family would all just receive money regardless of what he might have wanted. They think he purposely did not write a will for that reason - bring his family members together and just give them money. It's an interesting thought, that's for sure.

I read that as well. I am not very familiar with him, but just know that he is very famous. Sometimes it's really hard to just trust the Internet on the news, some can just be rumors or just made-up news.

@kaka135 I was amazed when I first found out that the internet is so full of made-up stories about celebrity deaths. You would think people would have better things to do with their time than write such cruel things.
