fake photos as a profile picture on facebook

i have a friend who at all times uses someones photo on his Facebook page,at some point some of his friend take time recognize him, because the profile picture isn't his real photo so to me i think it is not good to use fake photo on Facebook page, what is your view on this is good to do so.

I share the same view with you. And not only on Facebook but also on twitter and even here on mylot. Some people are claiming that they want privacy. But most of them just don't have the courage to show their face.

@otiant I don't know they have a lot of reasons. Probably they are thinking they're ugly and they don't want to be bullied. I knew one Indian friend who told me he doesn't want people to see his face or where he's from because the moment people do, they avoid him.

Well people do have several reasons for not using their real pictures, some of them are quite justified too. Someone i know had a horrible experience,a random person copied her profile picture and made a fake profile. With this fake profile that person started chatting with people and took money from some of them, those fools thought they are getting attention from a good looking girl. After that person with fake profile deleted the profile and vanished from Facebook so one of the victims searched for girl with that picture, he found out this girl and accused her of cheating him. In-fact he complained about her to police , of-course she was able to convince cops that she is no way involved and someone misused her profile picture, but imagine the mental harassment this incident caused to her.
