I should have my braces removed

I haven't been able to go back to the dentist to have my braces adjusted since November last year for lack of budget. The dentist accepts installments for braces but I had to fork over P1000 or $21 every twenty-one days. I've researched about it and according to a few articles the braces themselves won't hurt the teeth but it will hinder the proper cleaning of teeth for too long. Indeed, I only get to brush my teeth properly when ever I have to have the wiring changed. Unless I earn extra next month for another adjustment, I'll have to have it removed instead. Both my son and I are quite overdue with our visit to the dentist.

I wore braces for years, and after that I wore retainers for years too because my teeth wouldn't stay put. I finally got tired of it all and just stopped wearing my retainers. At first my teeth moved a lot; it was kind of alarming. I even had trouble opening my mouth because it affected my jaw too. But after a few weeks my teeth stopped moving and I could open my mouth more easily. My jaw still snaps a little when I open my mouth, though. But I don't want to go back to wearing braces.

I started wearing braces because an upper tooth grew at the back and it didn't fit the alignment. When I smile, it looks like I have a tooth missing. I was willing to undergo whatever pain just to have it fix. I guess it varies for everyone.

@maxen07 The first time I wore braces I thought I'd do anything to fix my teeth too. I just got tired after years of wearing them. But my teeth don't look bad now.

@Angel_15 I think it would be okay for me I guess. I was never really comfortable with the teeth I had because I look awkward whenever I smile. My cousin wore hers two years then got a retainer for another year and she's rid of it all for a few years now. Her teeth looked great.

I have been wearing my braces for almost 2 years now. It was because I was worried with the spaces on my front teeth. My teeth is getting better now. There are times , I want to remove my braces because I usually get a sore on my tongue and I find it also quite uncomfortable. There are times that there will be small particle of rice in between my braces and teeth. I think it is better to know the cons too once you stop wearing the braces while it is not yet the right time to remove them. I hope it will not turn into a negative outcome once you remove your braces too early.

I've done some research and read articles saying it's okay to discontinue the braces. But in honesty I don't want to have it removed yet. If I can get budget for it next month, I'll continue it.

As long as the braces had done its purpose. Then it is about time to remove the wirings on your teeth. A perfect smile will be the end result.

It's only been on two months until I stopped going back for readjustments.

Medical care, all over, is very expensive. We tend to overlook certain minor problems but have to give in when it escalates.
