who is teacher's pets, boys or girls?

when i were a high school student, one teacher who teached us math always do a question, but he very often put question to a beatiful girl, i guess the reason why he did that,as a student, it's unfair, each student should have the chance. how do you think of this matter?

I don't mind if a teacher has his or her own pet in class. I took it as a challenge and excel to all my subjects during my high school days. It is a friendly competition in academics.
