Do you have a collection?
I started collecting these comic books since I was in grade school when the price was P90 each at a stall outside a grocery store where my mother and I used to shop. 90 pesos is roughly around $2 if converted with the exchange rate today.
It's been years that I haven't bought a comic book to add to my collection and the last time I went to a bookstore, I had seen that it's already priced at 190 pesos.
I am not living in the US nor in Canada. I know it is much cheaper if I subscribe the copies there annually but here, all i can have is the available copies from the bookstores.
What do you love to collect?

I did see those comic books inside plastic bags, too bad I can't leaf through them. I collect porcelain birds and owls. I've downsized so I've given away a lot of my collections.

I am taking them out if I want to read them, then put them back again inside those bags when I am through.
Wow! That's nice. My mother used to collect elephants. But I don't know where they are now.

@brokenbee That's because being a mother , she knows that after you have read it , it would be useless already . It is just a want not a need .

Ahahaha! Wow! You're lucky that your father used to buy you that comic book. Hmmmmm I had to save my allowance for that. Or sometimes, I plead to my mother that she will buy me one but most of the time she declined especially when we only had enough for our grocery and I tried to understand.

we've had all those mentioned here - archie, sweet valley, pugad baboy - plus tintin. i think they've been passed down to nephews and nieces.

My high school classmates also collected those Sweet Valley High pocketbooks. 
But I was not into reading those before. I prefer these comics. Hihi

I also love to collect books. I love reading novels and it started when I met my professor in College who loves to read a lot. But, I does not have much time to buy or read novels nowadays because of my heavy schedule at work so sometimes, I just download those stories to my phone.

@brokenbee Yes, I remember your post last time on the thread about books. By the way I love those Archie comics too. When I was in 4th year high school, I have a classmate who has same collections as you. I always borrowed those comics and enjoyed spending my free time reading those. It made an improvement in my English vocabulary.

I also have some pocketbooks inside my cabinet and started collecting them when I was in college, but as I said in my previous post, I have some that I haven't read yet. Hihihi!

Omg you remind me of me when i was ahhmmm younger. I love archie comics and i believe i have those still lying around at my moms. But mine is not in best condition as yours. Its so overused coz me and my sis share it.. And i also reread them even when im still working. And i love jughead.. Hehe

I use to read those archie reader's digest. not sure were they are now, and my brother use to have collection of pugad baboy comics, some how i lost it somewhere in time

I have no collections on comics, novels my friend during my younger years because my Mom won't allow us to read those especially during classes. My eldest sibling tried to hide some of her comics but when my Mom knew it, she will confiscate it and burn it.

My Mom was a teacher, she teaches us how to read and write even we are still kids not yet coming to school and still wants to play. She's a disciplinarian.

@sol_cee To protect them from dust and air. The pages turn yellow after quite some time when exposed to air. How I wish I did it before.

I'm not a collector of things really, but I just recently fell in love with my daughter's toy Shopkins. I might be a collector of that. They are too cute to not try and get them all. Realistically I won't get them all, but I'm happy with each new addition we collect. :)

How nice that you are still keeping those comics. I am not fond of collecting reading materials, I always give away or throw away after reading. I love collecting money instead haha but I put them in the bank. Kidding aside, I only collect plants. I just love to be surrounded with plants.

wow! The Archies! nice.
I love that comic book, I'm a forever fan. I have a few comic books with me not only The Archies but I also am inlove with Bill Watterson - Calvin and Hobbes comics and Jim Davis' Garfield. I read all of them over and over when I feel sad,.
