Are sheep dumb?

Many a time, we hear of sheep falling into the ravine and we even read of it in the Bible that the sheep needs the guidance of the "good" shepherd. Because of this, some people think that the sheep is a dumb animal but no, they're not. The sheep has poor eyesight, the reason why they easily fall into the ravine. To compensate for this poor eyesight, they have been endowed, however, with a good sense of hearing that is why, even if they get mixed up with another herd of sheep, they listen to the voice of their shepherd and follow him and not get lost. Another "skill" that the sheep has to compensate for its poor eyesight is it's keen sense of smell. They can smell the green grass and so they follow that sense in search of rich pasture.
