Good afternoon.dog walkers or owner walking their dog should be
aware with have a high tick warning in our state of New Hampshire.
The winter has been very mild.Every time Mike comes back from his walk with Ms.Ruby.Tell him to shake is off and brush Ms.Ruby before coming in the house.
He had a few on him and Ms.Ruby also.Yes she is on front line. But still need to be checked.shake it off.Lyme disease is on the rise.
Have a good one and enjoy the video Shake it Off

I have Lyme disease. Had it a couple of times. The ticks are terrible here. All I remember doing was going out in my yard and walking across the lawn before my husband mowed the grass. I forgot to put on bug spray. Now I try to make sure that I spray before I go outside.
I'll have to get a supply of bug spray soon. Have to start getting the garden bed ready for next month.

@enlightenedpsych2 People are told not to walk in the woods with bare heads and not to sit in the grass of meadows. Ticks as such are a nuisance but not really dangerous. Yet, the kind of ticks which we have in our region (and, strangely, also in Japan) can be sick. Not all are. One never knows. If one catches one of them, they can cause meningitis or inflammation of the joints. So, it's advisable to go to the hospital and have it pulled out and the spot treated.

@enlightenedpsych2 There are different types. I know about a woman who has had problems for decades after being bitten by an infected tick. If you're bitten by a healthy tick, you won't have lasting problems afterwards. But some ticks are infected and these are the dangerous ones.

There is a lot of debate in Australia as to whether we have Lyme disease here or not.

I've never had to deal with a tick. Kind of lucky considering how much mountain biking I've done over the years.

A coworker of mine was feeling sick for a week or so. She finally went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Lyme disease. She was in the hospital for awhile. Ticks can be bad here in North Carolina but not too bad so far this year.
