Dinner Time In My Yard

It is definitely dinner time in my back yard right now. No, not for us, but for the birds and squirrels.
There are cardinals, jays, finches, and even doves. We had to put a feeder on the ground for the doves, and they just love it. I like how they are always in pairs.
Soup's on! I mean Seed's on!

They would struggle so to get to the seeds in the hanging feeder. Only one figured it out, so we put it on the ground to help them out.

We feed them in the winter too. And also give them water.

I have to invest in new feeders for our yard. I would like to have them placed out of the garden beds. The seed spills in the bed of the garden and sprouts into long grassy type growth. Very hard to weed out too.

@cindiowenIs I have some giant sunflower seeds I am going to plant this year. I hope they do well. Usually I have a few that start in the garden bed, but mostly just the grassy crap.

I take some of the sunflower seeds out of the feed and plant them, lol.

@polyxena Yes, they are. They chase the other birds away. I have been chased and flogged by them as well.

You can make one out of anything. You can even just throw the seed on the ground.

I have several feeders up year round, as well a bird houses and bird bath. I love to watch the birds. Love your picture.
