Thumb pain

Some days my body seems to hate me! Today it's my thumb. Seems minor, and I'm sure the problem is. But when you have pain in one spot, you really learn how often you use that part! And I use this thumb all the time! ouch! It began yesterday. I thought I had an ingrown nail, so I trimmed it (although it wasn't very long at all) and filed it straight across. I've run into this problem with my big toe nails from time to time, so I know the drill. After a few hours, the pain persisted. I took an Advil and tried to ignore it. Even holding my book made it hurt a bit, so that was a problem. A stupid problem but a problem nonetheless! lol When I woke up today, I noticed that the pad of my thumb hurts when I touch it (I know, don't touch it). lol The skin looks fine so I'm assuming it's some kind of nerve problem. There are times when it really kills and other times when it's not so bad. Making dinner was fun...not! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger! Let's see what this thumb pain can do for me. :D -Claudia- image from Pixabay

I hope it isn't an infection, I do get those in my thumb. I always offer pain for the souls in purgatory, the devil hates that and the pain usually goes away. lol Go figure.

You are right, when something hurt you immediately realize how many time you use that part of your body. I hope you are fine today.

It's still killing me. Whatever this is, I guess it's going to take some time.

@CRK109 I am sorry, are you sure that is not triggered by some kind of food. Thumb pain could be gout, in this case it hurts even if you do nothing.

When I go to the house tomorrow, I'll have to remember the epsom salts. They are still over there. And I will definitely give it a try, thanks! :)

@CRK109 Maybe take out a magnifying glass and take a look at it. I know I've done that and found something there. A poke with the tweezers then and it was good as new.

That would be such a nuisance. And do you find you keep touching it to see if it is still sore? That's what I do so it never has a chance to get better.

@CRK109 Glad I'm not the only one that does this. I thought maybe I was peculiar!

Aw, feel better. Thumb pain is awful, mainly because you actually use your thumb to do many things, and take it for granted.

That's a really bad spot to hurt, especially if it's your writing hand.

That's what's so strange. It's not my writing hand. And yet, I still use it a lot. I don't use my mouse with that hand. I can't imagine what I've done. But it still hurts, so I'm beginning to get used to it. I probably won't even notice when the pain stops. :D

If we have pain anywhere on our hands it's hard not to keep touching the spot or knocking it. Hope it goes away soon.
