Why does this happen so often?

I don't know why but for some reason I have so many dreams that have to do with people from my past and places have been to. Besides that, some are reoccurring more than once. I retired over five years ago and I still have dreams of people I worked with and the places I have worked. They are so real and when I get up I am so confused and sometimes startled. A few times I really got up thinking I was late for work. I don't know if I am happy or sad that I had no place to go.

I have been retired for almost 18 years and still dream about work, or about starting a new job. Guess those memories are still in our minds

I am so glad to hear that as I thought I was going crazy. My husband wasn't happy with his job so he thinks I am crazy to miss working.

@ramapo17 I loved my job but was glad I retired when I did. My husband only lived two years after that so we did a lot of things together.

@AnneEJ Awww, that was nice you had some time to spend with each other. Do you live alone now?

I graduated in the university 18 years ago and sometimes I dream about not being able to take the final test so I couldn't graduate. That made me confused when I woke up coz it really felt real

It does take some time to realize you no longer have to be somewhere to work at a certain time. Sounds like you miss not working any longer.

I was thinking about a special person in the past before I fell asleep. A dream so real with him on it woke me up.

I haven't had workplace dreams for a while now. I usually had them when I worked at that place. You must miss working an awful lot to want to still be there with the people you spent the majority of your time with every day. Do you still see them or talk to them? Maybe you need to reach out to some of those people and see what they are doing now. It might quiet the dreams.

I do keep in touch with some of them but I now live in Florida and that was in New Jersey. I talk to some of them on the phone if I am talking to my daughter. She still works there and has been with the company 25 years or more.

@just4him I didn't think about that. I do know when we are back in New Jersey to see my kids we always stop over to Home Depot and everyone swarms around me. It is amazing how so many of my age co-workers are still working. A couple of them retired and went back a few hours a week just to be with other people.

@ramapo17 That's good you're still in touch. I wonder if your dreams are because your daughter also works there. Interesting.
