Garden Center Today

Today is the day I have been waiting for since spring arrived. Today we are going to the garden center. I have to wear my comfortable shoes as we are always there at least 4 hours as this garden center is so big they have maps at the door. We are going to buy more flowers mostly annuals we buy every year to round out the garden. We will also be getting tomatoes, peppers, and more veggies to be decided when we get there. They have 20 smaller greenhouses with flowers and veggies. At the door to each of the smaller greenhouses they have a board up telling you what's inside. Inside the smaller greenhouses they have 4 pallets wide of growing things with two aisles for walking. Then they have 2 larger greenhouses with flowers, ground cover plants, hanging baskets, water features big and small and just was to much to list. The two larger greenhouses are each bigger than a football field. In my picture I am showing a small part of one of the big greenhouses. I would say that in my picture I am showing around one tenth of one of the big greenhouses. As I said this garden center is massive. They also have a huge outdoor area where they have trees and bushes and the like. They also have another building where they have pots and stuff like that. Many of those pots are taller than I stand and cost hundreds of dollars. They also have a hot dog stand in that building. It's an awesome day and my husband and I always enjoy it very much.

@fishtiger58 I think the closest thing we have to it is The Myriad Gardens. It's sweltering inside, but it's gorgeous!

It's a pretty cool garden center, so glad I live near by. I met someone there yesterday drove 2 hours to get there because they had heard so much about it.

@AmbiePam It's warm in this place too but because of that and I think the plants can't get too hot they have these huge fans hung up and blowing all over the place.

Oh, wow!!! I would love to go to a huge greenhouse. I remember going with one of my dear friends, who is now departed. Miss that woman so much. We would go to local greenhouses whenever I would visit in the springtime. There was one that had great buys on plants of all sorts. I still have the stonecrop and blue thistle that I bought when we went together. The plants are about 10 years old now.

@fishtiger58 I need to get some impatiens to put around the rough spots. Love them. Double impatiens are great in pots too.

Now that is awesome that you still have plants growing you bought 10 years ago. I too have flowers and such growing after that many years. We do buy annuals to round out the flower gardens every year, but yes love the ones that just keep on giving.

I love that shot, I wish they had something like that here but so far the biggest nursery we have might be the size of a football field in it's entirety, at least they have lots of plants and trees for this kind of area.

It's the most awesome garden center I have ever been too. You should see their front lawn in the spring, thousands of tulips blooming. The owners are Dutch, as is my husband.

@rebelann I don't have a wide angle lens, wish I did. My camera doesn't even begin to show just how big this place is.

We need to plant in the next week or so. We like to get our plants a bit before we plant them to get them used to being outside possibly in the chilly weather.

This place looks huge! I could spend hours in there too and probably way too much money! A gift certificate to our garden center is what I get from my kids every Mother's Day. Then hubby takes me there and I spend the gift certificates and more!

@JudyEv Yes we have to set them where we want them and walk around the house looking at the other flowers and moving them, and walking around again and moving them lol. My hubby drives me nuts lol. We can't just go out there and dig holes we gotta think about it and move stuff.

The garden center is really beautiful! Now I understand why so many people like Spring! As staying in tropical country, we can have this scene almost throughout the whole year. I am sure my children would love to visit this garden center too.

That really is huge. I love garden centres too but I certainly don't want to spend 4 hours there. I like to be in and out as quickly as possible, which I why I prefer a smaller place with everything within easy reach.

If you could fly over my area (Niagara Region of Ontario), you would see thousands of acres of glass. The average green house is 10,000 meters. Not kidding, They grow everything. I love the photo above and can't wait until its time to buy here.
