Lately I have been getting reminders in my Facebook feed that people in the US are seriously under par in the amount of fun they have. I think it is an ad for a getaway or a park or something. . . I either have not opened it or it just was not that memorable. I probably do not have enough fun. I possibly do not know how to have fun, except online here. Or if I am having fun, life interrupts me. So, will you have fun today/ How about this weekend? I am going to go to that herb class I always go to. I believe we will learn about and sample basil and mint. I was going to stay home and enjoy myself, but my sister called in a panic last night. With all the medical she has had done, bills are catching up to her, but they are not tapping all her resources yet. She got a huge whopper of a bill yesterday and she wanted me to run right out (50 miles) and read it. She was bordering on an anxiety attack. She has medicine for that and I said she should take it, but she refused. I told her that basically there is nothing that they can or will do to her, and I have to pay for this class whether I go or not, so I am going, but she has stolen the fun. Immediately after, I will go to her house and tell her which numbers to call and so forth. So I am grumbling. The other "fun" I need to do is to mow my lawn, clean my house, you name it. How will you have fun this weekend? What will you do?

I guess on a scale of 1 to 10 my fun meter is way down around 2. I'm not unhappy with my life but my idea of fun lately would be a nice vacation away somewhere tropical where I can swim and not have to be responsible for anyone else other than myself. Hope you can sort out the problem for your sister and enjoy your herb class

That responsibility can certainly wear you down. I would love a good swim somewhere as well.

That does sound like fun, and it does not have to cost a lot to do it.

My fun this weekend is working. Ugh. Hubby will be away tonight and tomorrow, but will be back by the time I get home. Tonight I am treating myself to Chinese food. I only have it once in a blue moon. Would like to go with my sister, but doubtful that will happen. She too is experiencing financial woes.

A meal at your favorite place can be fun. I need to find a job, I think.

I think I will take the kids to either Busch gardens or colonial Williamsburg. Either or, we will have a great weekend.

You know, it is even fun to go look at and make plans with the fabric I have. I sneaked away for a minute or two just now and moved stuff around where I want it instead of all over where hubs leaves it. That is even fun.

@GardenGerty I hate when my hubby does that, I mean I don't go in his barn and move his stuff around. HHHHHHmmmmmm maybe I should he might get the idea to leave my stuff alone

Hopefully, my son will put up a screen door for me this weekend so I can air the house out with inviting bugs, squirrels and the neighborhood cats in. Right now, it's snowing, so that may not be high on the list for a few days! Go to the class and have fun anyway. A situation or person can't take away your enjoyment of it; that's your choice.

The class was great and I took advantage of getting to the city by buying some things I wanted.

My husband and I do like the kids in your picture do, we have fun at home. I'm still so worried about his leg, he's in a lot of pain. I am planning on working a few hours on Saturday morning, while my hubby drives an hour to our son's place. They asked him to come and do something in the house for them. And he needs to drop off the grain-free treats that I got the puppy.

I love your photo! In life, you have to make your own fun, I've found. My husband and I always enjoy being together, laugh, and have fun, even when we just watch TV.

My grandkids made their own fun last summer by creating their own water slide from their climbing tower. I have a lot more fun that I realize sometimes. I looked at that "reminder" again. It is from a credit card wanting to get me to spend more for "fun".

Yes, we get to sample goodies. I get to pick up the plants I paid for as well. Reading some posts about the other people's gardens is motivating me as well.

You have so much work to do, like anyone of us here. It is good you went to your sister's place to comfort her because if you didn't you might have some guilty feelings. Let the voluminous work wait!

It is going to take several steps to resolve this. In her panic she had lost a letter that told about her extra financial help. She did not have much luck making a phone call about it, I was not there to understand the problem. She found the letter this morning, looking in a place she had already looked. It will be nice if they will pay for the work she had done. It would be nice if she would do the health things to prevent these major surgeries. If the bill goes unpaid, there is nothing she owns they can take and they cannot take it from her Social Security, she just feels badly about it.

Mmm.Basil and mint. Some of my favorites. Why does your sister have medicine and refuse to take it? It is good to take the anxiety med all the time so it is in your system and helps you on an ongoing basis. Fun? I will be here in my room writing or watching TV. That is my life.

I will be with my family and help in house hold chores while doing some chit chat. Fun for me is also by means of participating here in mylot or playing games online. By tomorrow, I will go to my dentist to have my ortho adjustment. I hope I can still have fun eating after that.

medical bills one doesn't need to panic one, but that's hard for a person with anxiety to remember. One, they might not have filed to her insurance correctly. Two one can ask for itemized bills to be sure they haven't stuffed it, and they will accept payments of any amount, one can literally send them a dollar each bill, and they can't take you to collections, because payment is payment, (these are things hubby has explained to me, and I have seen work for me and others, so only my understanding of these things, may not be fully truth)

We had fun last night going to a small theatre with friends. This morning we slept in which we very rarely do and we've had fun tidying up the shade house. I think I get my share of fun through the days and weeks.

If I had some money, I know exactly what I would do this weekend. The weather is so nice right now and there's a place about 20 minutes away, right on the water, where I can get some clam cakes and chowder, or even fish and chips, and walk around by the water, watching boats go by. I went a couple of times last year and I'd love to go again soon. I just need the money! lol (just a little problem) :)

Oh dear, really sorry to hear that. I understand how you might have felt when your sister (not her fault though) curbed your excitement for the herb class. It's not that I have a lot of fun, and it's mostly because I am lazy. I too have most fun while online.
