How Long Does it Take You to Get Ready?

How long does it take you to get ready to go to an event or set foot out the door? I have a birthday party to go to this afternoon and I'm picking my mom up too. It's 8:30 am right now and I was just thinking that I need to start jumping in the shower and let the beautifying process begin. lol. When I was younger it took me no more than 10 minutes to get ready. Now that I'm older I find that I need a 2 hour window to get ready. Mainly for my mane. I'm presently in love with my hair. I chopped it a couple of years back and it's finally long again. But that's another story. How long does it take you to get ready?

I'm back to that 10 minutes. lol I don't have anyone to impress anymore. I don't wear much makeup anymore. My hair is very long but it's naturally wavy so even if I spritz it with water and shake it out, it's pretty good to go! lol Showering takes the longest time and that's about 15 minutes. Then get dressed, towel dry my hair and I'm pretty much out the door. :)

Oh I love wavy hair. I always wanted it. I used to get perms when I was younger and I loved spritzing my hair and going. I used to have super straight hair, but four kids later, I now have frizz. lol

@CRK109 My father had a doctor several years ago who had the wildest hair. It was so crazy wild and I loved it! ha ha. Her hair looked like it never met a brush and she just rolled out of bed. I'm not sure why I liked it, but I thought her hair was the coolest. So I think my hair is in training so I can wear it like that one day too. lol :)

Once I know what I will wear, and that could take hours, I can be ready in 1 1/2 hours. That is if I have had a mani/pedi, and tweeted eyebrows. If my hubby isn't about to help fasten my jewelry, I'll be late! Have fun!

I completely forgot about what to wear. I just went into my closet thinking that I would wear some black dress pants since the sun is playing peek-a-boo today. But I saw my other black pants I like, then I saw my black dress, and basically I have all these outfits on my bed to wear now. I think after I do my make up, I will try them on and see which one feels right today. Then later I will blog about how I need to donate more clothes! lol

Never timed myself but my husband says I don't take as long as many women do. He was visiting my son one time and his girlfriend was getting ready for them to go out on a date. My son was already dressed to go. But he told his dad to sit down because they would have plenty of time to talk. He knew how long his girlfriend took to get dressed. My husband shook his head, somewhat confused and said "Your mom doesn't take a long time."

@pinkCardigangirl - That's hilarious! Me too! Have had occasions when I thought I should make myself up extra special. Wasn't much difference. Eh! The dress was fancier. I still looked like me!

Ha ha some girls do take a long time. I used to be ready fast and never understood why it takes someone so long. Now I've become that girl that needs that two hour window. The funny thing is I come out looking the same! lol

@pinkCardigangirl It depends on my mood and what time frame I actually have. If I need to hurry then I will be ready in like 5 - 10 minutes. If I can't be bothered and I know I have some time then probably 1 - 2 hours lol

@Daljinder Me either! Makes me very annoyed if I am being rushed or watched.

@VivaLaDani13 My kinda girl. I don;t like to be hurried when there is no need to. I have mind enough to get ready if I need to hurry. Don;t like anyone standing over my head.

I always like to have a lot of time to prepare for it. If I have to leave my house at 9 am, I will wake up by 7.30 am. I like to have breakfast and read newspaper before I shower and change.

It depends. If I'm just throwing on clothes and a hat, 20 minutes. If I'm washing my hair and doing makeup - 1 hour.

@pinkcardigangirl Don't get me started on this one. We are voting in our election on Thursday and my daughter is already picking out what she'll wear to vote and the process is just beginning. The house will be a dither of perfumes and what not till it's all over.
