What will I do with him? (He never thinks it will get us.)

Last night my dad and his wife had dinner with one of his brothers, Larry, and Larry's wife. They were having dinner during the tornado warning. While everyone in the restaurant, including the staff, were hiding in the restroom, my dad and his dinner companions were laughing and talking in an otherwise empty restaurant. This was confirmed when my dad decided to take me to lunch today, at the same place he dined last night with his brother. The waiter remembered the only people in the restaurant who didn't take cover when the sirens went off! *I included this picture of my Annabelle, who I hunker over in a tornado warning. Sorry, the picture refuses to load how I want it.

I don't have far to run for my closet. But when a tornado got my dad's house last year I started taking them more seriously than ever. When they say it's in my city I'm going to make sure I'm near the safest thing I can get.

That reminds me of some movies I've seen where things are happening, but there is always one person who just carries on. Titanic was one such movie, and The Quiet Man with John Wayne was another one that comes easily to mind. I'm glad your father and his friends made it through the storm in good shape. It's a good picture.

Thanks. I love taking pictures of her, and she's learned to ignore me.

Sometimes you just gotta live your life and let come what may. Life would be far less enjoyable if you spent every tornado season in hiding!

I'm still going to hide every tornado warning (although I won't post about it), but I can't hide until fall. Although if I could find a hiding place that would be cool in the hundred plus summer heat I might happily stay there.

I am glad that we do not have tornadoes in this country, I would surely rush to hide in a closet. I like your photo.

I guess that's one meal that the group had that was spoiled for other people. Annabelle looks lovely. Is she old? She looks a bit grey around the muzzle.

LOL No, she's five. Which is a spring chicken for a Chihuahua. But you have a good eye, she has white around the muzzle, and one big strip of white fur on her chest.

Most restaurants here will insist you go into the walk in cooler if there is a warning. In Wal Mart you go to the back under the stairs. I guess your dad made an impression.

I guess your dad was just feeling lucky while most other people decided to help luck along.

His wife is normally scared of tornadoes, but I swear when he's around she's genuinely not scared. He offered to take her to hunker down with the rest of them and she said she was fine.

I wonder if he's so used to the tornadoes that they don't scare him.

I'm happy to hear that they were safe. I'd be a nervous wreck during a tornado warning. You Annabelle is a precious sweetie, and I'd be protecting her, too!

Wow I guess they really didn't expect a tornado to come through. It's very good for them that nothing bad happened.
