Vacations at the Caribbean.

When I think about vacations, I always think about the Caribbean. I like to take my vacations in winter as cold weather, rain and gray days depress me. I live alone and depression is expensive, dear friends. I need to be surrounded my people and that means that I have to feed them. And while it is nice, my budget suffers. Then there´s the heating. While I´m alone in Winter, I stay in my room with a gas heater. The rest of the house is icy but I´m as near a jail as one can be. And if I try to heat the whole house (or at least the whole first floor) the amount of money I spend in heating is much more than what I can afford. So I add and substract and decide to spend that same money basking at the sun

Have you considered moving to a new place..or a new town?

All my loved ones are here. I would never move. But a good vacation every year helps.

@marguicha OK. I get it.. Yeah..most probably going on a place where you feel the sun will give you a break from all the cold seasons you had the whole year..

@jndlponti Our winter is short. But from May until September, cold ( even if it isn´t too much) is asking for a break. So I take my vacations then.

We go away in the winter too - I figure that what we save in not having to heat the house or buy food pays for at least half of our holiday.

That is what I think too. I go to a resort where I can cook my meals and only go once or twice to a restaurant.

@marguicha We go to a hotel where all the food is included, so no cooking for me

You should bask in the sun and not stay there and become depressed.

It can definitely be difficult. Maybe one day you'll be able to take your vacation to the Caribbean during the winter. It'd definitely be nice. I'd love to visit that part of the world.

I go a couple of weeks every year. It is not so expensive if you cook your own food.

Beautiful picture. It looks gorgeous to me. I have been to Mexico resorts a few times but never the carribbean. But even Mexico is like paradise on the resort; white sand beaches, oceans, umbrella drinks.....Love it. Where have you been? Have any vacation plans to come?

This year I already have the tickets for St. Maarten. I have been to Cancún and to Playa del Carmen, but this year I could not find a place that was not all inclusive and that is too expensive for us.

No. It is not that cold for most people where I live. But I cannot stand gray days, rain or cold weather.
