A lovely weekend so far.

The weather over the weekend has been brilliant so far. Much improved on what we had during the week. We had every type of weather known to man here in the UK. Snow, wind, rain, hail, grey skies and more grey skies. The wind came from the North (I blame @Koalemos for that sending the shocking weather down to the usual tropical South). The reason I am happy is because this is a three day weekend for us here in the UK. Thankfully we are off tomorrow too. Although I know I have pressing work next week but it is also nice to be off. I am looking forward to late afternoon when my daughter and grandchildren will descend on us once more. My daughter asked me to cook dinner for them. I have been shopping this afternoon so that I can cook for them while they are in London. My wife was working this afternoon she helps out in a charity shop. So tomorrow will be a day of cooking and chores for me but in no great rush. Sadly despite the days off I still wake at five thirty as if I am still at work. I promise myself to have a lie in but it never materialises as soon as I wake I have to get up. I can not lie in bed once I am awake. The good thing about that though is that the day is much longer. My wife sleeps on my behalf she could win a gold medal. I hope you are all having a great weekend. Do you sleep too much or are you an early bird too?

aha! so that's where my lovely weather wandered off to (got blown to?). was a beaut'f a week here 'n then late yesterday all went awry. our balmy temps'f 80+ degrees shattered by bitter cold winds'n a chillin' high today'f only 46 degrees - sittin' 't the freezin' mark if'n ya factor'n the winds. that's wonderful that'cha got the day off tomorrow'n 'll be spendin' such with family. ya must be one heck'uva cook :D slumber eludes me most oft, sometimes goin' 2-3 days with none't all. when i do finally get my eyes to stay shut, the morn comes too early - the sounds'f hungry lil birds hollerin' 't their parents to bring more food quicker, lol.

Good grief 80+ That is far too hot for us here in the UK. We would all die with heat exhuastion although it would be fine if you did not have to work. We rarely have temperatures like that but when we do we do not like it. 72-75 is just right for us! Which we may hit once in a while! Oh 2-3 days without sleep is not good for you. I think you need some chamomile tea or something and lavender drops on your pillow. ( There are two types of lavender drops one to calm and one to make you alert so you need to make sure you get the right one). No coffee and some earplugs might help! Nice to see you hope you are well and not too cold!

I was feeling a little guilty about having rain and wind so regular while you were missing out. I decided to stop being selfish and sharing it with my Southern friends.

@garymarsh6 You are perfectly welcome to keep it for a couple of weeks because I have already enjoyed my fair share.

I sleep well too, but I don't go to bed until very late. It's been nice in East Anglia too, though a bit of a chill wind. I hope you have a lovely evening with your family.

So you go to sleep late too? It is nice and peaceful at night and early morning when everyone else is asleep and I can have my coffee in peace!

Lol! When I worked, I was up at 5:00AM to get my walk in. It took me a week or two once I retired, to settle in to a later snooze. I get up when I get up.

Yes it is so wasteful of a day to sleep too long. Nothing too heavy as they are at school on Tuesday so it will chicken something I am not quite sure what yet.

I am getting better about sleeping later on my days off. I used to be up at 5am every single day and it was really annoying.

We are just hoping our snow has stopped now and the ground will dry so we can get out in the yard and start preparing the lawn for summer. Enjoy your days off

Mostly I get up when I wake and we're usually both up early. But the weather is much cooler now. We don't really need to get up early and we're surprising ourselves with how we go back to sleep and wake much later than normal. This has just been over the last few days. It will be interesting to see if it continues.

Also have the day free today which to me is so inconvenient, Mondays we have the most work will have to talk to the boss in our next meeting.
