You cannot read through a black cat

Lately Princess has decided that the perfect place for her to lay or to stand or to sit is between the keyboard and the monitor. I cannot read through a black cat, can you? I do not have a picture of this as the camera is out in the truck. She is just one of the many distractions that keep me from interacting here on myLot.

@MGjhaud She likes me to turn on the bathroom sink for her to drink.

Princess is in the bathroom
She is just an average sized cat and that is big enough. I will see if I have a picture of her I can share.

My daughter's favorite of our three cats, Colbert, is spoiled. He will walk on the keyboard and bug her. So, she gives him some attention and then takes him off and he seems to know.

I think Princess is a little chilly right now. Or she was telling me it was bed time last night. She likes routine.

Every time I would open my laptop to try to get some work done Vadar would have to climb up on me and get in front of the screen. Of course that meant he was walking on the keyboard too and the laptop was not happy with his choice of keys to push. I would have to push him down to my feet and tell him to lay down there. Sometimes it worked and sometimes I would just have to put the computer up and pay attention to him.

Hi, friend, I have not seen you in a while. We do adapt to living with our pets and manage to do okay.

@GardenGerty I've been here off and on since they started back up. I am finally learning how to navigate through the new system though so now I can find all my old friends. I miss the way they used to let us know when a friend posted something though but I am adapting to the new way of doing things.

@GardenGerty While I do not have a cat as pet,I can imagine how it is.First you will have to attend to her and settle her. Then you can start using the computer.

I suspect she wanted me to go along to bed. She went without me.

Yes, she seems to need this more the older she gets. Right now she is asleep on my bed. Each time I go in my room I pet her and she is content.

There are much worse distractions than a black cat. I rather miss the ones who used to be in my life.

Most of the time she is a lot of company. She was probably coaxing me to go on to bed.

Get an iPad and use the cat as an iPad rest. That is what I do to my fiance's cat.

Princess is not much of a lap cat, but that is okay. I use her as a foot warmer in bed.

Better yet, I put the cat down. Hubby went to bed, she went to bed, we were all happy.

You can't watch TV through a black cat, either, or one of any other color, for that matter. I always had the same trouble with Guiness the Cat. Huckleberry, my new kitten, is a pretty big distraction, too, but unfortunately, he isn't much of a lap kitty at this stage of adolescence.

Princess has gotten to be more of a lap cat as she aged. She always has preferred hubby though. I was the one who had to wash the flea medicine off of her that was causing her seizures and she took a long time to forgive me.

Cats seem to love to do that. My cat would also do that - anything I was paying attention to she would want to lay on. School work, books, my laptop etc. I think they just want to be the center of attention!

Patches tries to sit on my lap when I am on the lap top and it is hard to do anything with a cat on your lap.

@GardenGerty I suppose you can't shoo her, she would just look at you with that "I dare you" cat look. And make herself more comfortable.
