A Beautiful Alumni Homecoming

Yesterday , May 1 , I attended together with my high school batchmates the grand alumni homecoming at our former high school .
It’s the first time that I attended our HS homecoming and saw for myself that I missed a lot , since I refused to attend them before .
It’s nice to see the familiar faces of those other batches . Some have remained the same except for some lines, but others have grown so old , while others have grown so beautiful .
And the performances of the silver , coral , diamond , gold and ruby jubilarians were really so fantastic . They really prepared for their dance numbers and this year the theme is Fiesta thus , the dances were mostly native . The costumes were fabulous !
And the foods for lunch was so delicious and overflowing .
Our batchmates, after the whole day affair , went to a newly opened native restaurant and talked about what our batch will do next year since we will be the ruby Jubilarians .
I told them , if ever we will dance i should be at the back , because i might not remember the steps much .
Though , we cannot finalize yet because the theme is yet to be finalized by the alumni association .
So , have you attended any school grand reunions ? How was it ?

I like you to guess . Maybe you can take a look first at my profile picture so you will have a gauge . No cheating !
We look haggard because it's so hot in the auditorium and was there since 10:30 in the morning until 5:00 p.m. and this one was taken after 5:00 p.m.

@SIMPLYD Hahaha! Is it you at center (6th from left)? If so, you're a tall lady :) May not be able to respond to your response because I'm taking a 2-hour break to water our plants and lawn :) See you later :)

No i haven't. They always plan it on the days that I'm not available. The last time we had a reunion in December 2015, I was out of the country.

i did not attend the grand alumni homecoming last January, and the intended tee shirt for me is not yet given to me to this date
While I was out of the house yesterday doing errands (we have no duty for 2 days, Thursday and today), I received a text message from a colleague GJ. She asked...

@ridingbet I am just more than 5'3 my dear. I just appear so tall because they are all of the same height , about 5 i think .
Besides , i am slimmer than them . What about you , how tall are you ?

My dear , you are too young not to remember them anymore .
But in your condition now , i advise you don't attend the yet . Next time when your condition is already fine maybe .
Yes, we really have fun even if it was hot at the auditorium . And this was taken after the whole day event . .

Never. I never attended any school reunions... because there werent any.
Years later when these started I had no interest in either that school or those people behind it. Life has moved on without them and has been all fine for me. I dont need those darn people around. No fun finding them or even no fun trying to fake that you appreciate all that and it is all good when you know it is all fake from their end too. They do it today just because after so many decades they feel that they are not doing what the batch mates from other classes and sections are doing
btw, I never knew you were so tall. I mean looking at this attached picture, you are the tallest one there. I love that

@SIMPLYD Sounds all interesting for the next year. The photo shows you in heels and now that you mention it, they are not that high. maybe 2 inches or maximum three. The one on your right maybe almost same height as you, but others for sure are not that tall.

Oh don't be corny , my friend .
Just go so you can see how much some classmates have changed already , some for better some for worse appearance . .
Anyway , i also just get to attend just now , because i too feel that i don't like to mingle with them because i was thinking some would just brag of their accomplishments . But i proved it wrong because most are so helpful , thinking of how to be able to help some batchmates who are indigent and needing help already .
One batchmate would always come to dinners but we don't let her pay her share because we know she doesn't have a job . But still we always want her to come .
I think i was the tallest because most of them are of the same lower heights besides i am in my high heeled sandals while all are in their flats . Though , even then , i am really the tallest . Though , some who didn't attend are very much taller than me .
Next year , even those from afar and abroad , will be coming home because we will be performing since we will be on our Ruby anniversary .

Oh so you never get to attend any class reunions .
For our HS batch as well as those for the other batches , those living far would really save the date for those reunions where their batches have a major participation in the program .
Next year our batch , will be on its Ruby anniversary , so we are one of the 5 participating batches who will have their dances . O my , i will also dance !
Thank you for saying that my friend .
I really see to it that i will still look good even if i am old already . It's a good thing we siblings took after our mother who didn;t get so fat as we get old.

In 2009, I attended our first HS reunion. There were lots of drinks and food. Some played poker and others were just busy chatting.
We'll be having our 2nd reunion on 30 December 2016. It would be a reunion for a cause.

@SIMPLYD In 2009, it was only our HS batch.
The reunion scheduled on 30 December will be for both batches (GS & HS).

Too bad indeed that you HS crush is now married . But at least you get to see if she still looks as great as before or has added a lot of poundage already .

Yes, it's actually like that . The bulk of the preparation and expenses is for those on their silver (25th) anniversary , while the rest , pearl , coral , gold and diamond will also have their shares of preparation and expenses also.

Indeed those exclusive for the batchmates are indeed the most fun , because you get to go to where everyone unanimously have chosen .
Though , it's also enjoyable to attend the grand reunion because you also get to see the other batches in your school before.

Really , the men looked older ? I guess women naturally knows how to retard aging when it comes to looks .
Us, when in HS we are all girls . Though , some of us who went to same school for primary grades have boy classmates , that's why for our reunions , we only have a few boys .
That can indeed be something to look forward to indeed . I hope you also post here about it accompanied with a picture .

Yes, please attend .
I regretted having not attended earlier homecomings wherein we are one of participating performers of the program like those jubilarians for pearl , coral , diamond , silver and gold .

Thank you . We were given umbrellas as give aways from the reunion . And since the one in white shirt is the treasurer of the alumni association and pre-registered us all first , she was given the chance to choose one color for our free umbrellas .
