Yes, I know; I haven't been on the site for a few days due to the preparation and visit of my sister for my BD. Scrubbing, scowering, cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, dusting; my sister is a germ-aphobe. All the cats have fleas for some unknown reason, so I've been dealing with that as well. My visit with the sis went pretty well overall. She took me to dinner, had bought me several gifts and took me grocery shopping. Geez, she must have spent over $200 for everything. She was shocked at my physical appearance and said she would send me $50 a month to help with food. Bless her heart! I do apologize for not being active with ya'll and promise to make it up to you today.

I'm glad I only take a Thyroid med @andriaperry . I realize that the Thyroid regulates a lot of things including body weight, but my tests for that have been okay.

I am glad that you had a good visit and your sister sounds like a real gem. Is there no where else you can go to get more money for food? Here we have a great food pantry and the churches also have food available. How can anyone live on $16 in food money?

@nanette64 Maybe take another look at the food pantry. How about tuna, peanut butter, oatmeal, there should be lots of things besides prepared food. I realize that many of them don't have fresh fruit and veggies. I hope you can work it out.

I did try the food pantry @BelleStarr , but the food they gave raised my cholesterol level out the roof. Yeah, I told the food stamp office, "Thank you for the loaf of bread, gallon of milk and box of cereal; now what do I do the last 2 weeks of the month". You should have seen the look on her face.

bless yer heart, 'n happy belated birthday! no doubt yer plum exhausted from't all. so glad yer visit went well. that's most kind'f yer sister to offer such, know that's gotta give ya a bit'f relief. 's fer the cats'n fleas? sprinkle salt'n throughout the whole house, includin' their beddin'/furniture, etc. leave't there fer 3-5 days 'n then clean't'p. the salt'll dehydrate'n kill the fleas 'n do no harm to yerself nor those sweet felines.

@nanette64 I can imagine. Are you getting some exercise?

@TheHorse I get lots of exercise and maybe that's part of the problem. Taking care of the critters is almost a full--time job by itself. I walk the 750 feet (one way) to and from the mailbox daily (which hurts because of spinal injuries) but I do it anyway. Lifting 70 pound bales of hay and 50 pound bags of sweet feed and oats for the donkeys is a doozer too.

$16 a month in food stamps just don't cut it and with the doctor visits and having to change my food consumption to get my body back on track, it hasn't been easy @TheHorse .

@nanette64 That's always the "risk" with siblings.... They are annoying and yet lovable.

Boy do you have a sweet sister. I hope you make enough here to keep you in food. BTW, are you putting your kritters above yourself? If you are consider this, if you deny yourself food because you'd rather feed a kritter then what'll happen if you're hospitalized and not around to take care of them?

Thank you @Marilynda1225 . I see her twice a year; my BD and Xmas. As kids; because we were the 2 oldest, we used to fight alot. It's not so bad nowadays, but we do try to stay away from topics that will create a screaming match. LOL
