The Rain is Getting Old and So Am I

Today is the forth day of cold rainy weather. I know that we need the rain, it was a very dry April. It is however, depressing and my joints don't like the cold wet weather. My right knee was throbbing this morning. I call it my weather barometer. Do your joints also ache when it is cold and rainy? There is no scientific evidence to support it but I know that it happens to me. I can't wait to get to the nice warm pool. The water is usually 91 or 92 decrees.

I have some achy joints from cold. I also have muscle spasms when I get too chilled. That is part of why I do not really do a lot with air conditioning. We had that gloomy damp weather all last week and I certainly feel for you.

I am not a big fan of AC either since it does make me achy as well. I hope that soon we will all be warm!!

I don't ache when its cold and rainy, but I get cold and cannot get warm again, which is difficult. I get awful sinus headaches during the summer when there is a pending storm, I hate days like that.

It is funny the way our bodies respond to the weather isn't it? Obviously warm and sunny works best!!

Oh yes indeed, when it's damp and or cold, my joints let me know it. When I was a kid I tore ligaments in my ankle. The doctor told me as I grew older I would know when it would be damp/cold because my ankle would probably throb before and during those times. As a kid you don't understand. As an adult you do. Hope you feel better. have a blessed day

It is cold and rainy here, too. And yeah, my arthritis does not like it and making it known to me. Feel cold and sick but it is too early to call it a night.

I feel it, only in my joints, wrists, fingers, knees etc. It has been dark and gloomy all day too so does not enhance anyone's mood.

i have one of those knees too. I used to have two just like that but had a knee replacement years ago and would like to have the other done too. Sunny days are great, rainy days cause pain....

@BelleStarr BTY. the key to replacement is therapy. You have to do the exercises or you will be sorry. Mine is doing great and I am soooooo glad I had it done. from surgery to walking easily was 31/2 months. I was walking on day two but everything was great at 31/2 months. Could no believe how easy it was..

That sounds heavenly. I hope you can get to the pool soon. It's good you need the rain after a dry April, but enough is enough. I hope the sun comes out by you soon. Science doesn't know everything. Your joints know more than they are willing to admit.

Luckily , i don't experience that yet and i hope i will not , ever . Indeed some matured person would say that when it's so cold their joints ache . Could it be arthritis ?

bless yer heart, jest send that rain this direction, k? we're to get 'nother "wind event" this weekend'n the next storm off the coast'f cali skirts's to the north. i believe we've managed 'bout .30" moisture since the blizzard the end'f december. the rain don't bother me, but that cold makes the peripheral neuropathy scream'n creep'p higher'n my body. the storms that really do me o'er 'r those that miss to the north - 'p to 200 miles 'way screws me'p purty good. no doubt that warm water'll do wonders 'n not jest fer that poor knee - but'cher spirit's well. my belief's that 'tis the barometric pressure changes that exacerbates the inflammation :( sendin' warm'n dry hugs!!

Thanks, I needed to be reminded that my knees might hurt because of this horrible weather. They were better the last few days when it wasn't raining and a bit warmer. I'm hoping they get even better than that soon. Last week I could barely stand on my left leg for the whole shift as it hurt to put any weight on it. I purchased two different types of knee bands. The first I wore was a compression type thing and that helped a lot. Eventually, though it was a bit tight so I changed over to the other type. After the forth day of working I could finally work without being in pain. Today, my knee was funky off and on and this afternoon it began raining again, so that probably answers that. I've been trying to visit with DeborahMitchell and keep getting side-tracked with her activity. Since I have knee issues too, I thought I'd stop by a minute before heading back to her place.

@BelleStarr They've been a lot better since last week, but they are not as good as they have been. I began wearing support hose again to see if that is partially the problem. Seems better, course it could be the nicer weather too not sure yet.
