Tales of the Village - or Tails of the Village - Hugo and Odin

I've written before about the two tiny Siamese kittens that we met last summer when taking our regular walks around the village. One in particular was so greedy for attention and affection that he would wrap himself around my neck and purr like an engine. For many months we didn't see them and started to wonder if their human had finally got wise to the insanity of letting two such beautiful and valuable little kitties go wandering wherever they wanted to. A few weeks back we spotted one of them but he was too shy to play. Tonight we saw the two of them near the barn where the bullocks live, where we stop to talk to them and make the odd mooing noises in encouragement. The Siamese looked us up and down and then came running across the road for cuddles. We popped them up on the stone wall to give them a good rub (without the back breaking bend) and whilst we were having a cuddle, they spotted a woman with a dog. It turned out that she was their mum and the dog was their neighbour's dog. She seemed perfectly happy that Hugo and Odin (cool names - Odin is the one with the Roman nose) were getting some loving and said she didn't mind at all, although she did sometimes wonder if she ought to be worried that the boys were so totally trusting. She should be nervous. I'd grab the pair of them and take them home if it weren't for knowing that my kitties wouldn't be happy. Actually it's not true - I'd never do that but I do love to have a cuddle when I meet my little furry friends.

Please take a photo the next time you see them. I've never seen a cat with a Roman nose!

They are both very beautiful but Odin's nose is quite hooked. Sadly I don't tend to take a phone (with a camera) with me as I usually try to escape it when I'm walking.

@boiboing I've never seen a cat with a hooked nose. Is this natural or did it break once?

@MALUSE I think it's just the way he was born. Siamese are very regal looking cats.

Isn't it great when the neighborhood pets like you and come to you? Our neighbour has a dog who loves me. She's always coming to see me, she'll even sit at our door until I come out.

I have often wondered about volunteering at the local no kill shelter, so I can cuddle the kittens!

Great names - although you would have thought the one with the Roman nose should have been Hadrian or Tiberius or something.
